I don't understand why? Do You?
Why does a weaker person need to latch on to a stronger person?

Survival instinct. You feel more secure when you're with someone who appears confident and in control.
Like when you're riding a horse. If the horse sees something scary, like a car or a butterfly or a rock, he's gonna flip out unless he believes you're in control of the situation. But if you're a nervous rider and you have a nervous horse, you're both screwed haha.
Of course, I took "strong/weak" to refer to attitude rather than physical strength. I figured that's what you meant.
@snowangle sure has a point. I'm guessing you have someone leeching you? Just tell them they're being too clingy. People can be incredibly dense and if you want to make sure they know what you think, tell them literally. Advise them to go to some class or teacher that will improve their social skills, so they'd make more friends and leave you some space.
because survival duh
