How do you get rid of keratosis pilaris fast?

of course these aren't my legs, but i have keratosis pilaris (skin condition that causes dry, rough patches and tiny bumps on your body like in the picture) all the way down my legs from top to bottom. I've had it ever since i was like born basically. it's not like its just faint. like it's reallyyyy bad and is absolutely embarrassing for me. i don't even wear shorts because I'm that embarrassed of it. it could be 30C (86F) or hotter outside and ill be wearing jeans if I'm in public or going to be in public later that day while everybody else is in shorts.

i tried using extra - virgin coconut oil and it isn't working that well. i tried putting it on 2 times everyday for 3 weeks like i was told by many people and it did no difference for me. any ideas of what i could use because there's nothing more that i hate than when spring and summer come around and everybody is wearing shorts and then there i am sweating my ass off in jeans for the whole 8 months of warm weather because my legs look disgusting with this hideous skin condition i have

I have this and actually quite a lot of people have it too. It is often called chicken skin. Such a lovely phrase... not! lol!

Our bodies do not exfoliate so the bumps are caused by a build up of keratin. It usually is on the legs, back of arms, head and sometimes face.

The best thing to do is to get a loofah and loofah every day. Use lotion and get sun on the bumps.

It will never go away but if you continue to loofah, moisturize and get sun on it, you may be able to have smoother or smooth skin for awhile. When I did this religiously, I actually did have no bumps but as soon as I stopped loofahing they came back so I finally gave up and embraced my bumps. lol!

It is supposed to go away when you get to your mid-thirties or so but I have not found that to be the case for me.

It sucks and unfortunately there is no cure. But it is not the end of everything. Trust me. Hang in there. :)

I was reading that it might be a food allergy. Try a gluten free diet for 2 weeks and see if it clears up

just do some research, never do anything fast, know all the pros and cons before doing something, and honestly some guys dont care if you have them, but if you want tl get rid of them go ahead.

That's nothing its not bad either I have those too. Those actually usually go away in you mid twenties to early thirties.

But mid twenties/early thirties is still over 7 years away

No not the lotion lol if you clicked on the link and read on the side it talks about how it usually goes away by the age of 30 .

Yeah, do not buy the lotion. I was the sucker that bought lotion specifically for this. I believe it was called KP Duty or something like that. It is very expensive and does not help anymore than normal moisturizer does so I would not recommend it.

Get plain oatmeal and bathe in it.
