How to tell my parents about my underage citation?

i was recently at a party (USA, Pennsylvania) and cops showed up and wrote our info down for a underage drinking citation. I gave them my school address and not my home address but I go back to school in about a week. I was wondering how I should tell my parents about it. My parents have always trusted me and never asked about drinking. I am a sophomore in college and I played baseball my freshman year. My dad also played baseball in college. I was never sure if they knew I drank because I started my freshman year in college.

I would just tell them the truth and who cares. The drinking age is only a legal age. To be honest, there are tons of people well over 21 that should never touch the stuff and there are plenty of people under 21 that can handle it better than a 40 year old.

You did not commit a crime here. Don't think that. You did not rob a person, you did not rape a person. You consentfully put a substance into your own system. You did not force the government to drink or anybody for that matter.

Plus, I am sure your parents had a few drinks under "age". My Dad gave me a beer at 8 years old.

If you are a sophomore in college, that leads me to believe your an adult, at least by age. What are they going to do? Ground you? Plus, with the laws getting how they are, governments are getting more and more strapped for cash, more and more freedoms will be becoming crimes in "the free country". Yea, if we were a free country, why do you have to be 21 to consume booze? Anyways, this is just a ploy for government to steal more of your money. I would tell your parents so they can help you fight it in court. Don't plead guilty either. You did not commit a crime.

If they have half a brain they probably just assume that you are like most college students. They'll be less angry the sooner you tell them because then they won't feel like you lied to them as much.

If you were drinking but didn't get terribly drunk, then I think your parents kind of expect that at your age. They'll respect you if you're honest about it.

Be honest. You don't want them not to trust you, too, and be disappointed. Double whammy.

Tell your parents your friends put alcohol in your drinks, tell your parents they wrote down everybody there whether they were drinking or not.

mom will see 400$ payment to the courthouse and I will raise my parents car insurance

Your insurance shouldn't go up. If it was your first offense it will probably be forgiven and thrown out unless you were belligerent.
