People always say i’m cute or sweet, does that mean they don't respect me?

People guys and girls alike always say this, mainly my friends, but it kind of makes me feel as though they look down on me, I notice they kind of give me special treatment sometimes because of it too or maybe it's just all in my head, but I really just want to be treated equally. Sometimes people take me being nice for granted to and take advantage.

I've waited tables for about 2 years total. And I've seen a lot of personalities.
and yeah people do that allot. And pretty bit*hes expect special treatment. Don't become like them.

also, everyone has things they have to deal with based on they're character/appearance. You have particular people who you have to deal with.

learn to filter out people who tale advantage /or treat you better while still giving the good people you run into a chance.

also, people that treat you better than normal. Just say to them: you don't have to treat me better just because I'm beautiful. But say that with caution, because you want to come off as a bich.

No I definitely realize that some girls who are even mildly attractive can be like, and I've made a promise to myself that I won't be that way, plus it's just so unproductive to just act like everyone owes you something just because you're pretty, you'll never be anything more if you act stuck up about it. Yes, I realize all women have their things they have to deal with and thank God I have a few close friends who are like-minded because it keeps me grounded, but with that being said I need to start cutting people off and like you said "filtering people out" who I know (because of my gut instinct) are taking advantage of me but treating other people differently. Thank you!

Thank you. I realize I could be called worse things that are untrue, but again I guess in a way it's an ego thing, because people assume that when you are kind you are weak or less than them, do you get what i'm saying?

It may seem like they are being disrespectful or rude. That is because they are.

You see, when people meet someone like you, your purity is intimidating. Why? Because they lost theirs a long time ago. It's like reminding people of their flaws. You do it by nature of who you are.

The bad news is that the world will judge you for it.

More bad news is that you can lose it in an instant. It is closely tied with your sexual purity.

This happens to me. I'm not really taken seriously at my job. Last week i was very intensely explaining something, then the guy just chuckled, called me cute and walked away. I died a little inside. I'm shy so that took a lot of confidence for me

Yeah, the thing is i'm pretty outgoing but I can be shy sometimes, and being shy isn't a bad thing, and people need to learn to accept that not everyone is outgoing or extraverted and that's okay! It's annoying when people do that, because everyone deserves to be treated equally, we're all human

it's not really a matter of appearance, sometimes it is but personality wise people know me as being sweet or cute, and it can make you feel as though they don't take you seriously, think you're weak just because you choose to be nice, think you're naive etc, so i'm wondering if all of this is a bad thing.

Kindness is often mistaken for weakness or is abused. It doesn't appear like that's the case for you. I suspect you may just be growing tired of hearing that compliment. For example, cute girls who grow tired of being viewed as "cute."

yeah it's like they just think you're easy to take advantage of because you choose to be nice, but that's just a thing it's a choice. It's just conflicting though because at the end of the day it's still better to do good, and be kind and not be taken seriously for it than be a jerk and also get looked down on.
