I'm not even sure exactly what a National Guard is and why some soldiers hate National Guard. Or why some National Guard hate soldiers.
I'm confused about this, can someone explain this to me? Thank you
OK, first off, I'm a former Marine infantryman, so you know where I'm coming from.
Most of what you are thinking of as 'hate' is simple inter-service rivalry and ribbing. The branches of the US. mil fuck with each other CONSTANTLY. My best friend/roommate is a former soldier, and we talk shit to each other all the time. When I was in, we talked shit to the navy all the time, and the navy talked shit to us. Every branch talks shit on every other branch.
But, let some civilian puke try to do it, and shit will get real.
Here's an analogy: Say you've got a family with 4 boys, all close in age. At home, they will fight amongst themselves constantly, talk shit to each other, etc. But outside the home, if someone starts shit with the youngest, that person is now going to have three angry older brothers to contend with.
Yeah, we give the Nasty Guard a lot of shit. Most of it is like I just mentioned, good-natured ribbing from other services.
The NG gets a lot of positive propaganda from the public and. gov. More so than the other branches. But compared to the other branches, they're untrained, undisciplined, and usually underequipped, though that last one has changed a lot in the last 20 years. It's a simple fact that you can't achieve the same level of skill and discipline by training one weekend a month that you can get from training every week for years.
Guardsmen and Reservists also like to talk a lot of shit about how they get called up to do things like go to war in Iraq. They don't like when someone points out that it's cheaper to get Guardsmen and Reservists blown up than active duty soldiers or Marines, since. gov doesn't have nearly as much invested in their training. They shouldn't even be over there, since the NG is for emergencies at home, such as natural disasters or the last line of organized defense against foreign invasion, but that's not something that anyone outside of CONgress has any control over.
What unit were you with? We legitimately hated soldiers in 2nd LAR lol.
@Chico_brah
LOL. Yeah but if there was an army unit taking fire, you'd have been right there lighting the enemy up as fast as you could.
2/1 and later 1/5.
Ahah of course. Semper Fi bro.

They don't hate the national guard it's just service man rivalry our military talks shit on each other in a joking way all the time and it's always been this way.
Rangers make fun of the army.
Army makes fun of the navy.
Marines make fun of everyone.
And everyone jokes about the national guard
Everyone makes fun of the air force.
They don't hate each other it's just a little fun serviceman rivarly between branches.
Also the national guard is our nations reserve unit, though now a days the guard gets deployed quite a bit.
This is a pretty good example of the branch rivalry
Marines making fun of the army lol.
( the guy who sings this by the way is a former ranger )
This is another example which is the Army Vs Navy games
Army Drum line vs a Navy Drum line music battle lol.
It's rivalry stuff like this you know? battles, pranks, jokes, making fun of each other it's a serviceman and branch rivalry but it's all in good fun at the end of the day they are all on the same team and when hit shits the fan they'll work together to keep everyone safe and fight.
We also do stuff like this with other nations to when we're deployed in them like this drum battle against South Korea.

Its not hate. Its just service rivalry and interservice rivalry for instance in the marine corps frontline marines often joke that marines in non-combat loads are not real marines. The National Guard gives a lot of service to the military and deploy for the same length of tours as the regular army and can be called for two years service at a time, they have basic training and keep training, they get extra training before deployment. The Reserves are the same. About 45% of the US military is made up of Reserves and the National Guard that's just how important they are to the military.
I'm European. But Wikipedia can yield some information about the National Guard.

NO idea why some soldiers hate National Guard. Being a reserve force, I suppose the NG isn't fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Fratty guard.
What? I don't understand
sorry for my English, I'm still learning a bit
What's the hate? We are all Americans
