Just like in the photo above, you can spend days, weeks or in some cases even months speaking to a woman/man that you thought looked a certain way. Meanwhile, it is so easy these days to manipulate photos and look like a model! Although it isn't all about the looks, online dating makes it much easier to lead people on.
2. I can write you what you wanna see
Most dating sites allow for users to exchange messages between one another. You don't even have to talk in person or on the phone. Users can take time to think about what they wanna say, and reply at their convenience. It takes the whole idea of "tell me what you wanna hear" and puts it into actuality.
3. It's not what you say, but how you say it
For the most part, the tone of what a person says matters. You can take the phrase "I'm sorry" in many ways. If you heard my tone as sarcastic you would have one reaction to it, versus if I genuinely stated "I'm sorry" with sincerity in my voice.
