“Microship (n) : an emotional but more often sexual association between two people lasting between 1 to 48 hours”
Ok, let’s face the facts: dating is hard. From the confusion of how to DTR (“define the relationship”) to the simple task of keeping someone from “ghosting” you, millennials are rarely on the same page when it comes to “dating”. It seems like most of us are facing relationships similar to the way we entered high school: completely lost, but pretending like we know what’s up.
Enter the “microship” - Yes, another confusing dating term to add to your list of guy meets girl. Elite Daily posted this hilarious video (watch above) yesterday about this new dating phenomenon, and if you’re anything like me, you can totally relate. Though I have had a few whirlwind flings that could constitute as a microship, I can definitely relate to this experience regardless of the time constraint. Whether you’re “talking”, “hooking up”, “hanging out”, or “bumbling”, getting rejected is never fun - but the reality of getting dumped by someone you aren’t even dating is an even bigger burn to the ego. Hello, awkward.
Have you ever dumped anyone you aren’t even dating? Check out the video and share your thoughts below!

Okay, this is real. Haha. I dealt with a few scenarios like this (not exactly like the video..), and it was awkward. It's like you're dating--everyone thinks you are.
To me, it's basically saying there are people who are not the relationship type or they have someone else lined up. I have told some guys I didn't want to talk to them anymore. I have also have just flat out 'ghosted.' I hate that, but I was not up for the debate. Still feels like a true breakup, but... It's not.. Or is it? Haha.
Haha I totally agree!! I have been in this situation so many times - I mean even though it's not "official" it still feels like a real breakup!
I thought there was gonna be pictures of tiny little ships at sea. :/
Not gonna lie, I've had to do this before. Sometimes -- not all the time, but sometimes -- my niceness is misconstrued and I have to creatively find a non-mean way to say I'm not interested like that. It sucks and I wish it never happened.
Oh, goodness. Mr. Nice Guy.. How many girls have you let down?
