Beat up by wife’s ex: Recently had a fight against my wife’s ex?

I overheard my wife telling one of her friends about the fight. She told her I got beat up. I find the term “ beat up” harsh.

I dont think she's trying to belittle you, she's just saying her ex caused you bruises/ physically attacked you. I've noticed you're American so this is the common way i hear American woman talking in the hairdressors in movies.

i think she's putting more context into the fact that her ex is an asshole and wanting to gain sympathy.
My guy mate was really angry at me for reacting to some black thugs who'd only really scratched me up, he didn't realise they did that because i had a gold necklace (they failed at stealing). He then made out to some girls that i got hurt bad and they came up and started kissing my face that had a few scratches. Considering i was a skinny indian and they were pretty white intelligent blondes, i was loving it.
An ex of mine told me how another ex had punched her, again she was looking for sympathy. Girls just want attention, dont think anything of it. You could joke later about it, but a wise man says nothing and lets his girl repair the issues. After all it's her baggage that caused it.

We fought at a pool party. Things got tense when he arrived. My wife didn’t try to stop the fight, just sat there puffed on a cigarette and watched. She seemed interested in the fight

ohhh, i am guilty of looking out of natural tendency and a guy reacted to remove me from a workplace she was at when i had zero intention behind it, unfortunately once a guy reacts the girl switches on and she ended up repeatedly flirting with me and i couldnt do anything about it. Ex's are exs for a reason, so be warned. I can therefore say, DO NOT bring up the fight now, thats going to have her think of her ex... again.
