Trying to get in contact through friend request?

I know it’s been said it’s not a good idea but after 2 years I still miss my ex! I can’t stop thinking about him and wanted to at least get in contact again so I sent him a friend request so I can get a ruff idea if he would want to talk…… he’s accepted it but what dose that mean, and what should my next move be?

I feel like I want to go back to this guy as I have found no one else in the 2 years and no guys ever want to date me, I’m always just the friend!

Yes he did but he was in a bad place at the time and hoping for a friendship back at least
