I’m feeling a little guilty because I asked him for space and I think it was a little cold. I know he cares about me I would be there for him in a heartbeat if he needed it but at the same time I want him to stop taking me for granted as if I’ll always hang around whenever it’s convenient. Do I stand firm in taking my space? Or do I express my feelings to him so he knows I’m there if he’s hurting?
backstory:
I broke up with him because he did not want to commit or invest on the same level as me. He might move next summer was always his reason. That said he told me he loved me and introduced me to friends etc still somewhat moving the relationship forward so I tried to give it patience. I was asking for simple things like a plan for when we would see each other again and to see each other more and he couldn’t do that so I ended it. He wanted to stay friends and I asked him for space.

What are you trying to accomplish in the long run?
Well if he ends up not moving we both wanted to give it another shot… I’m just having a hard time being friends in the meantime because it’s painful. But I just want him to know i still care
Don't try to put him in your friend zone bench, he's done with you.
Actually he wanted to stay friends and I asked him for space… hence my question I want him to know I care but I want him to respect me too
