Why would an ex take the time to block you on social media 4 months later even though we don't follow each other and he has a private account?

My ex and I broke up about 4 months ago. It all ended in an explosive fight after the break up. I reached out to apologize on my behalf and wished him all the best after a while. He has been ignoring my messages ever since. We would primarily talk on What's Up. A few days he blocked me on social media even though we don't follow each other and he has a private account. Why would he take the time to block me on social media after all this time and not simply block me on what's up if he seems to hate /not care?

Listen, I deeply understand.

He clearly STILL cares if he went through all that trouble... he's done it because he knew you would find out he has blocked you and he wanted to cause a reaction out of you in any way he could, why? because he still cares... and he is still hurting inside... why? because he still loves you and has feelings for you.

I know this because I did the exact same thing. The only thing you can do for yourself is really focus on your life try to distract yourself healthily in any way possible. Study, read, meditate, watch youtube videos on advice for breakups, go to the gym, eat healthy, make new friends, try new hobbies, go out by yourself and try to upgrade your life as much as possible. If you once loved each other you definitely have an energetic connection towards one another, so he can definitely feel you still desperately thinking about him and playing over everything in your head, that energy he can feel and that is why he hasn't texted you back.

You need to go no contact for at least 4-6 months and once you've done all of this he will come back to you. And if he doesn't you'll be so concentrated on yourself that in 4-6 months it won't matter. Remember the universe/god has it's reasons if it's meant to be it will be, and if it isn't, well... maybe it's better that way in the end.

In any case, you are the priority. Dont worry about childish foolishness, blocking is nothing... he knows what he did is pointless, it really doesn't matter.

He blocked you because its over and has no intention of getting back with you. He's also probably dating seriously a new girl and doesn't want you to see or doesn't want you to get in touch with her.

When I got married to my husband I found out he was still fbook friends with all of his exs and sometimes they contact him, I know because I went through his phone. It was innocent on his part but I blocked them all on his phone and social media. Yes crazy, neurotic and pyscho I know and I dread him finding out but I'm afraid of losing him with the baby on the way and all of these women look like models or giant boobed pornstar lookalikes

Sorry about your situation. I do have to tell you though that it doesn't necessarily mean he is doing it because he still loves you but can't admit it. A lot of people take all sorts of things a dumper does as signs that the person still cares about them or deep down wants them back. Sometimes that is true, but I don't think it's something we need to read into that deeply. But I understand that you do because you're hurt and you're holding on to hope. He is probably doing it to either make you hurt more - probably knowing that you still care, or because he wants to shut you away into the past for good.

What we often don't see in these situations - because we're so hurt and wanting that person back - is that what they've done should be a clear indicator to us about what kind of person they are and that they're actually not the right one. It took me a long time to realize that too with an ex, and hopefully you will as well.

Think about it: you said you guys had a terrible fight but you apologized to him and he still wanted to ignore you, then decides to block you 4 months later. Do you really feel like he's a good or loving person now? Do you really think you deserve that kind of treatment? I understand that you're hurt, but also realize that this guy is not really the best person for you anyway.

I was blocked for a year before. Coworker found out from somebody else I had a crush on her. She went to being totally nice to a completely different person overnight. It sucked. No matter what I did it was always met with avoidance and rudeness. Just hateful even. Wanted absolutely nothing to do with me and made it known. I got another job in the company and guess who unblocks me and acts if nothing is wrong?

Out of a goodness of my dumb heart I still remained friendly. She actually reaches out now and she tells me about her life what she's doing etc. Like friends do. Im like this a person sharing all this stuff. Im talking no hope at all of even being civil to one another it was that bad. Not sure what had happened. I sent her a friend request but it goes unanswered though. I'm not blocked, she contacts me regularly on email, but she won't accept my request? That puzzles me. I guess she don't won't me seeing her posts or pictures. I'd give anything to go back and see what she wrote if anything about me from that time until now for clues as to why she hated me so much. That really bugs me and that's something you can't just ask someone about without sounding stalkerish.

So honestly, I think if he was an ex, you should not care. But sounds like to me that you are not over it, because you are paying attention to it.

So, he probably kept you in a limbo status... which is that he never blocked you because maybe he might consider you later. Like just keeping the door open. I know with my Ex's, I do not block them right away. I mean they are an ex for a reason, and I am not really looking to get back with them. But if at some point down the line I think maybe we could hook up again I keep the door open. Once I find another women and start dating her seriously, I always go back later and block the old girlfriends. I don't need old girlfriends seeing my socials with me and my new women and have them thinking maybe they should jump into the chat or send a DM to my new girlfriend. Let's be honest people can be spiteful like that.

He was likely busy doing other things for 4 months. He probably only has social media to communicate with girls like you. If I were to guess he hasn't needed to use it in the past 4 months. He was probably just living life, having fun with friends, partying, sleeping around, etc. and now he's talking to some girls he might consider dating/getting in a relationship with. They happen to use social media, so he opened it up deleted your ass and blocked you because you're old news and decided to use the same app to talk to some other girl.

If you didn't follow each other, did you keep checking their profile to know that you're blocked? Otherwise I don't think you would've noticed.

Also do your best to find peace within yourself and move on. It's not good for you to keep thinking about someone who obviously doesn't care about you at this point.

Maybe he got into another relationship and doesn't want you to interfere in any way. Who knows. But at the same time he doesn't really owe an explanation. Especially as it's been 4 months.

I know, it's hard to get over someone when you are younger - I took a year to get over a girl when I was late teens/early 20s and we barely went out for a month

As I got to my mid-20s it took me a couple of weeks to get over a girl I'd been with 4+ years

And in my early 40s, it took me zero time to get over my ex-wife of 13 years/16 years together!

Well for one 4 months is not a long time, and in that time you've apologized and he's been ignoring your messages, so you've sent him multiple messages. So basiclly you haven't left him alone at all sense breaking up, him ignoring your messages was the hint he dosent want to talk but you kept trying to so to stop it he blocked you.

He’s probably trying to remove any thought or reminder of you because a part of him wants to move on. He might of discreetly looked you up a few times and realized that’s bad for his mental health.

Sometimes it's hard to let go even when we desperately want to. Blocking would be a physical acceptance that he's moving on so sometimes it takes time for a person to make that step.
