No, It's generally better to let go of gifts after a breakup. Focus on moving forward rather than reopening old wounds.

I never buy expensive gifts for women I've been in relationships with, so when two of mine collapsed due to their cheating, I abandoned everything that I had at their places, it is not worth the grief/drama trying to get anything back. I just walked away when I found out about the cheating.

No, unless it was something sentimental to me. I wouldn't want anything back. Gift is a gift.

No, they are called gifts for a reason.

The last guy I dated offered to return all the money I gave him during our relationship even though it was a gift and not a loan. In the end no financial exchange was made, maybe because I did not pressure him for the money after he offered to pay me back. I do not try to buy guys with money but his family had significantly less money than mine and he was struggling to pay the bills.

Nope, once they accept them they belong to them and not to me. They can so with them as they please. Even if they wanted to throw them away after they accept it they can because it belongs to them. Besides, I did not give the gift just for the reason that we are together.

    NO

    Why?
It would just cause chaos, and it's too petty for no reason. I'd just move on, and throw every memory away.

No, if it is something you want back at any time, or for any reason, then it wasn't a "gift".

    No, lol
    I’m not that stingy.
Asking back gifts you gave is just stupid.
Gifts are gift, it’s different if they borrow it.

A gift is a gift in my opinion. If i gift you something I personally will never ask for it back even if we fall off.

Lol. The whole point of gifts is that they are not something to be given back.

No. It’s a gift, it’s theirs to keep or throw. I don’t mind either.

No. They're usually gifts that are for him and would only gather dust if I take them back.

No, you don't ask for them back. I never really cared myself I mean I gave them as a gift and a gift is a gift. But they want to offer them back then sure maybe.

Unfortunately today the law in the States and UK/Europe have stated the Engagement Ring is seen as a ‘gift’ and not as the property of the man, so it is best if you are absolutely sure about offering an engagement and IF you do not go over the top with the ring and totally ignore the current given wisdom about how much a man should spend on the ring.

The states.. It depends on the state, and there is case law to back me where I'm from. According to the most recent cases I've seen it's seen as a conditional gift. And no I'm not going to list the cases cause I'm not interested in doxing my self.
