Why does it seem, more than half the time, women are the ones who file, instigate divorces?

I haven done my research, and according to divorce statistics, more than half the time, women are the ones who instigate the divorce, why do you think that has historically been the trend, norm?

This has historically been the trend/norm because men are shit spouses and are more likely to be abusive at worst, mediocre at best in comparison to women who often get the brunt of labor at home. It’s not just about men doing the chores she asks him to do, it’s the fact that he ONLY does it when she asks and the full labor of taking care of their shared home falls on her and her ability to plan which is mentally exhausting to do long term. Shit like that builds up and men are just complacent and don’t actually know how to be a good partner.

No one communicates anymore. No one wants to try anymore to fight for their marriage they always think the grass is greener on the other side.

In 2024, "Nearly 69% of divorces are initiated by women," courts motivate them by rewarding her with monthly money. Ancient cultures dodged this by a clever compromise, a lady gets money in divorce but not monthly and she can't initiate.

This is smart and we need to revive it.

I read an article a couple of years ago which stated that the majority of the time, it is women who initiate the divorce. Cannot recall why this was so.

Because duty and responsibility feels bad. And the fact that divorce laws incentivize single motherhood.  I'm not putting all the onous on women, men are just as responsible for failures too.
