We broke up on mostly good terms, and I don’t want to reignite anything romantic. Just want to give a simple, meaningful gesture nothing too intense. What’s the best gift for an ex girlfriend in that situation? Something neutral but thoughtful? Guys and girls, what would you give or appreciate in that context?

Is this for a birthday or other event? Coffee card, house plant, regifting something, an items you'd give to a coworker, cash, or better yet... nothing!

If this is just a parting ways gift, then nothing! The fact you are even considering a gift for her is odd. Do you act this way toward cohorts, parents, siblings, or friends?

Either you lie to yourself saying you dont want to get back, or you risk sending a message you do. If you insist, then whatever you send should have little thought involved, it should be generic, not reminiscent of old days, or to help her 'move on'. IE, nothing.

So my question is who broke up with who? If you did then no need for a gift unless you want to try again. If she did without any closure just a simple card with “I want to close this chapter in my book and was wondering what I did wrong so I can try and fix the issue with this new love.” I mean you don’t have to be dating anyone if you want closure just lie a little. I mean cards aren’t that expensive but don’t make it all about love and what not. Again don’t do anything that might make her think you want to try things again.
