My husband has been gaming absolutely loads and not doing anything else for a while now. He’s neglecting other things in life at this point and it’s getting ridiculous.

If you can't live with the hobby your partner has, you gotta leave them. I assume they had that hobby all along and you decided you'd be able to somehow change them and now that you realize they don't change, it's a problem.

Leave him, silently. See how long it takes for him to beg for you to come back. When he does, you can negotiate on your terms, tell him he can’t be like that and expect you to stay.

It’s not. If she leaves and he does nothing, then she gets out of a relationship that wouldn’t be any good for either of them anyway. If she leaves and he asks for her to come back, she can set boundaries and make it clear that his escapism is not a coping mechanism she can support if he’s openly neglecting his relationship to her.
