Why did I marry a pastor and not my ex who is a doctor?

Biggest f-up of my life. I still keep in touch with my ex. He, his wife, and kids have everything they need in life. They have a nice house, nice cars, and his wife gets to buy the things she wants. I know my ex still care because he still have pics of us from the days and so do I.

I read the question and my first thought was because you realized there is more to life then outcomes. A person that looks for happiness in outcomes always chases it and never finds it. There is always more to get thinking like "you should have choose the ex"

Happiness comes from within. You make it, not find it. It comes from doing what you love because you love it, that is the reason why you do it. That's the kind of thing you learn from a "pastor". I think you choose exactly what you need to be happy. You just don't see it. You see all the nice things the dr has. Try and see all the things you do have instead of what you don't have...

Life is about the journey, the way I see it you are swimming against your personal river. thats the true source of suffering, not lack of money or things.
