Should divorce laws be easier or harder to prevent divorce?

In Ireland you have to be living apart for 3 years to divorce. A spouse can stop you selling your house. Also there used to be laws stopping people from marrying again. This is ridiculous. Makes it hard for people.

In southern Ireland the wife gets to keep the house if there's kids. In America its alimony and child support.

Make divorce more gender faur& equal in terms of child custody, alimony, child support, legal costs &division of assests and the divorce rate would go from 50% to 25% and instead of 80% of divorces initiated by women it would be down to 20%.

The law makes it finacially lucrative for women to divorce. She gets to keep what her husband built and a hefty portion of his earnings while able to claim maximum welfare or work herself and control of the kids while having fun with another man or men free to do whatever she wants consequence free. She is also able to make it difficult for her her ex husband to date other women and if she's real mean turn the kids against him.

You often see divorced women get really vindictive if their ex husband meets a new woman, especially if she a lot younger and hotter.

A lot of men only see their kids because their ex wants rid of them for the weekend so she can party or to better conduct her love life.

Women overwhelmingly are the ones filing for divorce because they come out ahead. Make divorce fair and the divorce rate will go down.

I know if men pay for the house they should keep it or at leas the percent they paid for. When kentucky made 50/50 custody of kids divorce went down 20%. Why divorce laws favour women when men make laws I dunno?

I think divorce should be illegal unless for a good reason. Those reasons would be things like abuse, cheating etc and in that case the partner who was the victim of it would get everything in the divorce and the one who did it also have to pay huge sums of money in damages to their ex and also can never get married again. A marriage is supposed to be a lifelong commitment. It’s supposed to be a stable reliable thing. It has become a joke. People get divorced all the time for stupid reasons to the point that marriage is really no different than a regular relationship. You can’t trust that it will last. It needs to be taken more seriously.

Both. Make it easier to go apart but less beneficial financially for the side that has less money to exploit the side with more money.
People who react with negative emotions on each other shouldn't be together, especially if there are children in this game. Financially it should be a fair game, because people won't marry if they can lose everything earned and obtained before marriage.

Lemme posit this to those who want it harder. If marriage is making me unhappy and I have no expedient way out, what's to stop me from killing them and make it look like an accident? Nothing. But if you give me a way out easily? No problem.
