Why do some people die by suicide after a partner or fiancé dies?

I read about a Jewish man who died by suicide on his dead fiancés gravestone after his fiancé was killed at the Nova festival in Israel.

Not only is it very sad when a person dies, but no relationship is impossible to replace with a new husband or wife, and God and your community can fulfill your emotional needs if your relationship ends.

When my aunt’s parent died, she spent years helping her widowed parent find a new spouse to marry because she wanted somebody who could provide her parent with emotional support when she was too busy with her own life to take care of them.
