  They tend to tax the rich much more over there than here. Capitalism dominates American culture, and as a result, many kids are placed in poverty because the wealth is not distributed fairly because the rich aren't paying so much taxes in America (capitalism), as a consequence, many kids are not fed properly. They are instead fed cheap and unhealthy food, which makes them fat and reduces their chances of getting taller.
