    you've made good points

but the process is so much easier. i often find a guy's way of thinking binary:
    step 1) pretty or not
    step 2) dateable or not;
    step 3) marriageable or not

many things can be forgiven if you're pretty enough. 3 for instance. and sure, sex is cheap but lasting attraction and connection are not. many people spend their lives chasing after that feeling.

I think you pretty much nailed it xD I'd add just a couple more items to the list:
      step 4) Crazy or not
step 5) Clingy or not (independent if you wanna be politically correct)
step 6) Fair or not (no one likes unfairness in a relationship)

Yup men don't want to marry anymore unless we are sure she's the one but you can never really tell. The divorce rate is high and marriage laws do not favor men. Women can get half of everything yet they don't want to work for it. Thanks you Frminism.

Obviously there is, since these women aren't getting married.

People are so bitter on this site lol If you don't like marriage don't get married it's pretty simple. If you want the traditional financially dependant house wife thing I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find that. And there are risks to any relationship even close friendships, it's a fact of life. Either you put yourself out there and deal with the risk factors or you stay alone and you totally get a choice which way you go about things!

it's no longer about old rolles, but the fact that males are loosing on all fronts in case of a divorce.

FURTHERMORE 35% or so of all marriages end in divorce, and 75% of all divorce cases are initiate by WOMEN. So in short, women are the ones leaving, and women take the majority of the benefits.

and men KNOW this. That's why they refuse to play by those rules.

It's been my experience that most men just want a stable relationship, whether as a fuck-buddy or a husband. Some, but not a majority of men, feel forced into playing the field because they don't trust women to stay committed to them. . . while others are just bonafide players lol.

Men are more emotionally fragile than women. So I imagine that many men are reluctant to give their hearts to women so easily and hop in and out of relationships with the ease that some women do. Additionally, most guys like to be established financially and in terms of their maturity before they even consider a real relationship with a lady. In their early twenties (and with the economy), guys at that age are delaying the prospect of having a real relationship because they don't feel ready yet.

Lol this is so wrong and bias it's not even funny. Stop blaming women for being a bad guy. I'm unemployed and if men really thought "oh she can afford it" then I would be married by now. This mytake is so dense it's not even funny. Some men accuse a girl of manipulating him if she does not put out fast enough. Some men say they want a good woman but as soon as they get one they are the first to cheat
    Really this article is ridiculous

My thoughts as I read this comment:
      1st sentence: ok
2nd sentence: you don't know me, and no one is blaming women; it is an explanation.
      3rd sentence: I don't understand this argument.
      4th sentence: ok
      5th sentence: and?
6th sentence: men are not praised for their behavior anywhere in the piece. And for the record, you're right; a lot of men don't appreciate someone awesome right in front of them.
      7th sentence: fair enough

This paragraph makes no sense: "There's nothing sexier than walking downtown and seeing gorgeous professional ladies in suits and scrubs. These ladies make their own money and determine their own destiny. Therefore, (unless he's oozing money) guys make the logical conclusion that, "she doesn't need my money; she has her own." It's why so many guys refuse to pick up the check on a date and creepers are mostly the only guys waiting buy a girl a drink. Guys think, "she has a job, she can afford it."
Ok so with your logic you think that only a rich guy will not think that a woman who works does not think "she has a job, she can not afford"

And this makes no sense too:"But a guy will be forever reluctant to submit so much control of his life over to one lady, even if he loves her at the time."
Your entire article generalizes females and you assume that when every women wants to get married it's because she wants control over his life.

You assume that all women are the same based on a few cases of nasty divorces. Not all divorces end nasty. Also, women do not force men to get married, a man chooses to get married and commits.

      1. I never denied the fact that I generalized. The article's point is to explain how men think; and men tend to generalize when thinking about women. It would be beautiful if men tailored their approach to each lady that they approach, but that tends not to be the case. Whether the way they think is appropriate is a matter of debate, which is why I wrote the article.

      2. Like I have said in responses to various other comments, no one is defending men in this article. For example, "it would be beautiful if men tailored their approach to each lady that they approach, but that tends not to be the case."

      3. Make me aware of the key points that I glossed over in Ozanne's comment, so that I may address them adequately.

      4. My comment about resources was meant to convey the fact that many men believe women tend to use tradition to their advantage when interacting with guy. For example, many women expect that men should buy their meals on dates and drinks when approaching. Many of the same women and some other women expect that a man be a provider for the household. However, the reasons that these traditional practices existed in the first place was because a woman had much less economic power in the past relative to today. Therefore, many men see these traditional practices as obsolete. Moreover, they find it insulting when a woman demands such traditional practices.

So what do you propose? A return to patriachy? Let these women live their lives and do what they want to do. If you can't handle these ladies then that's your issue.

Very good question. I propose that women should take a more aggressive role in approaching men. I will concede that I doubt this come to pass, however, since women will always be approached by men; thus, they don't have an incentive to learn how to approach the men they want. My point is that women have more power today than any other time in the past, so they should use that power in the dating realm to their advantage by actively, instead of passively, selecting mates.

With such beauty you possess, chances are you are already taken. How cowardice this may sound, it's likely to be true. Unless we are asking that is.

Why do people toss the term "lady" around so casually these days? NOT every women is a lady! "Lady" is a special title that a woman has to earn the right to be called, and those women are less than half of the female population!
