Yes it would appear that the MyTake part of this site translates as run down men and make out everything is about women section. And how they are always drawing the short straw on everything and men never have anything bad. It is funny how women always turn it back round to them and they have a hard time of things and men never suffer any injustice because of women.

I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying that I hear men complain a lot and I just want to make them aware that there are some additional cost for women that they might not think about. I mentioned this to a guy that I knew and he was surprised. It it never occurred to him all the additional cost.
But if she didn't do these things, men would consider her frumpy and not ask her out. Point being both genders have expenses for dating, period. Men need to understand ALL things cost us MORE. Haircut, shoes, clothes, not fair but TRUE.
@BrunetteNYC Thank you, that was my point. And we can't be seen in the same outfit too. often, while men can wear the same suit and shoes all they want. Or just change their tie.
@BrunetteNYC Most men want women to just look nice, not like a Hollywood star, it's the females that want to go the extra distance. This post is kind of ridiculous because it seems like it's asking men to apologize for why you spend more on looking good, when you need to work that out yourself or ask why hair, shoes, and clothes cost you more, not sit her begging guys to kiss your ass because it costs you more. Talk about whiners on this site.
@BrunetteNYC "So please consider the cost for us, too." - Is what she said, as if guys were the ones complaining about how much your costs are. And yeah, you are whining. Sorry you got butthurt.
No... she's right. Lots of men here on this site whine all the f'ing time about taking women out. The reality is, we have expenses, too. Real damn simple. No need to get offensive because we're stated the truth and reality. Dating isn't free for guys or girls. Simple.
@BrunetteNYC Well, women want guys to spend some money on them on dates, and so their end of it will cost something too. It's like you're complaining because you have expenses, yet are fine with wanting a guy to spend on you on a date. Just kind of pointless.
@Coconutty You deal with it just like the guys have to deal with their expenses, so it's really not even worth you fretting about. Women want men to spend on them, so you have to deal with your end of it too.
@Indigocloud that's true. I had to buy an suit and shoes for my son for a funeral and I couldn't believe how expensive was, even though I got the whole thing at Sears.
He's been invited to a bar mitzvah in March. I hope to god that the suit still fits him.
i think women need to stop making excuses and also your needs it to extreme for us men to want to consider to be dating you that's why some men do want to have for everything cause we know it's out of our reach cause the price of living is to high
I'm not making excuses. I'm just trying to point out that there are additional costs for us. I'm just tired of men whining that they're the only ones who invest in relationships.
your getting the wrong impression i'm not whining I don't mind doing for the woman I love but if I'm doing all the work in the relationship and if my girlfriend ain't doing nothing for the relationship then I'm better off being single cause a relationship shouldn't be one sided
This is just stupid.. grow some self esteem and use the money you would normally use on hair, makeup, clothes etc on the date or just save them.. this sounds to only Apple women with no confidence in their apperance
Really? "Women are incapable of loving a men they view as lower status"?
That is one of the most offensive things I have ever read. Not all women are shallow bitches. Just like not all men care about big tits, not all women care about a big wallet or "status".
@Adekae oh thank you and no not so much but just some girls I used to know from school that went out with this kind of guys and all. Back in my school days. No I always believed women are amazing..
Majority of those will be reused to catch another date if this one doesn't pan out.

"Catch?" Lol. True that clothes and jewelry can be reused. Regular maintenance has to be done all the time, though. I just had a facial Saturday, which cost about $70. I only get one about every other month and debated stopping it, but the difference in my skin is so dramatic (I. e. practically no acne or red areas) that I decided to keep getting them.
So it has nothing to do with dating. On top of beeing in line with what I said. Your clean face will still be good for the next guy reguardless.
You can't reuses restaurent bills, tickets to a show or even parking fees (like you already mentioned). THOSE are real cost of dating. Not how much it cost you to be presentable on the day to day.
So you cut all that off as soon as you land someone? I think you are confusing what people talk about when mentioning the 'cost of dating'. It's not about how much they spent to better themselves. It's the financial/time gamble someone is willing to put on a SINGLE person. Time and money that WILL be lost if a relationship with that specific person doesn't pan out.
The fact that a guy brought girl A to a restaurant will do nothing to help his chances with girl B. Another investment altogether will be required. THAT'S what people mean by cost of dating.
That facial, jewlery and dresses aren't gambles at all.
It is, actually, because I'm investing money in the hopes of even getting to the point where one specific person might spend time with me. At least you have an object in sight. I'm like some brightly colored tropical bird in a jungle hoping a male of the species will pick me. It is absolutely a gamble! At least you get to eat the dinner, if nothing else.
Don't you think people would do it if they could simultaniously dine with all the potential dates in a room for the price of one lunch? That's what your gamble is like. Waging that someone, anyone will be interested in you is much safer then putting all your chips on one person. The more failure you have the more costly the latter is. The former is a fixed cost only.
Hehe they my have had dinner but they sure payed for it.
" I don't think they realize how much we invest in hair, nails, clothes, accessories and babysitting" so you saying single women dont spend on their image?
Most guys won't notice nails and who can guess the price of clothes? Things like that really aren't necessary

If you're going to a semi formal event, it is necessary. I texted a guy friend of mine and ask him about this, and he said he does notice if the girl's nails are done well, if the color matches her toes, how nicely she is dressed, etc. He wants the whole package.
And the very costs you are talking about men have too PLUS paying for the meal, drinks, movies , etc so its still much more expensive for guys to date than it is women.

I actually wasn't aware that men got facials, colored their hair every 6 weeks, had to buy new jewelry and shoes when he got a new outfit, etcetera. I'm really glad to know that we're not the only ones doing this.
My ex must have been abnormal because he had one black seed for funerals and one Gracie for everything else. He would shower, shave, get dressed and be ready to go.
Well guys do get haircuts too which can be at least $25-40 dollars There's guys that dress up too for the date , hell they might even buy some new cologne if they don't have any. Besides women can also keep the receipt on their new purchases (excluding the hair salon) and take it back if the date doesn't go well or if they don't want to date the guy a second time for whatever reason, a guy can't get his money or time back on a date.
@lacorine197 They say that as soon as you really stop looking, you'll find someone. That might work for you. Lol.
I gave up on dating a year ago, and recently met someone. It's a long distance relationship so it's going to be tough, but he's so great I'm willing to figure it out.
Yeah I hope so, before my 30's that would be great, cause I don't want to date people who don't see the good in certain people or appreciate certain people, I've ran into that a lot, it's like running into a wall
Plus, when I was with somebody I would spend money on them to make them feel special too. I would buy something that he said he wanted, get tickets to a particular play or movie that he wanted to see, take him to the Auto Show. Whatever.

Girls always say they do that stuff for themselves so I don't understand when they complain how expensive it is to do that.
Really? I'd rather wear no makeup and my hair in a ponytail and my old jeans. Life is so much more comfy that way.
That's so true xD
Women say that because we don't want you to know how desperate we are for your approval and attention. OF COURSE we're doing it for you!!!
I have to wonder if there isn't a better way, because I can't afford it either.
The dress you're buying for a date can be worn again. You need to get haircuts anyway.
I won't pay for the girl to style it, though, and if it's just me I'd only get it cut every two or three months and let it be scraggly.
But it's the women that choose to go these extra miles in expenses, not the men. So please consider the cost for yourself.
Absolutely!! It's good for guys to hear what we have to do since so many assume we have it so easy.
@BrunetteNYC Most men want women to just look nice, not like a Hollywood star, it's the females that want to go the extra distance. Who said anything about begging for anyone to kiss anyone's ass? lol

@BrunetteNYC I have to disagree on the shoes part. Guy's shoes are usually way more expensive
@Indigocloud that's true. I had to buy an suit and shoes for my son for a funeral and I couldn't believe how expensive was, even though I got the whole thing at Sears.

This was for a corporate event in Atlantic City.
still it doesn't matter
how i look at it is all that glitters is not gold
I'm not making excuses. I'm just trying to point out that there are additional costs for us. I'm just tired of men whining that they're the only ones who invest in relationships.

Women are incapable of loving a men they view as lower status.

@Adekae thank you I used to think the same
@Smells-like-lavender You used to think all women were shallow?
Definitely not the case :) I love your username by the way.
Not true. I was married to a construction worker for over ten years.
@Adekae oh thank you and no not so much but just some girls I used to know from school that went out with this kind of guys and all. Back in my school days. No I always believed women are amazing..
My mom married my dad when he was broke and living in a one-room apartment. She married him because she loved him.
Majority of those will be reused to catch another date if this one doesn't pan out.

The guys don't do maintenance stuff. That's my point. Nor has anyone paid for a show or dinner or anything for me in a long time.
And if I didn't do all these things to keep myself up, no guy would ever approach me.
So you cut all that off as soon as you land someone? I think you are confusing what people talk about when mentioning the 'cost of dating'. It's not about how much they spent to better themselves. Hmmmm... I'd rather wait until I knew someone was going to date me. Three years of this is getting old.
But sure, if you feel like you're spending money on women with nothing in return then don't do it.
" I don't think they realize how much we invest in hair, nails, clothes, accessories and babysitting"

So your friend is gay?
LOL GIRL SHUT UP
WITH THAT WEAK ASS EXPENSE
WE SPEND MORE ON TAKING YOU OUT IN ONE NIGHT
LOL PLEASE DON'T TRY TO COMPARE IT WILL NEVER WORK
I have never had a man spend $200 on a date. Ever.
Man your a real charmer aren't you?
@Cjanes As charming as you
Sorrrry... I replied to the wrong person
Lol it's ok
And guys don't spend money on cologne, nice clothes, shoes, haircuts, gas, food, and entertainment for the date?
Most guys I know have a few outfits of they wear over and over.
Most girly girl type women consider clothes, makeup, hairstyling just standard basic things lol costs directly related to dating because of guys
Wow… I must be dating the wrong girls. I always get the jeans and t-shirt stuff haha
Lol. I admit I'm mostly a jeans kind of girl. This is why this semi formal event had me in a tizzy.
How is that wrong? I love girls in jeans and t-shirt, dancing in the moonlight. Who wants all that frilly BS.
Where did this dancing in the moonlight come from? You can dance in the moonlight regardless of what you're wearing.
I think I probably think this way because dating for me is entirely an informal affair

I hate voice texting!!! "Black suit... gray suit."
Well guys do get haircuts too which can be at least $25-40 dollars There's guys that dress up too for the date , hell they might even buy some new cologne if they don't have any. Fuck dating and FUCK relationships
exactly.
@lacorine197 haha
Lol, I know right, by my 30's I'm quitting completely, i'll give dating some more tries, but after that i'm done.
@lacorine197 They say that as soon as you really stop looking, you'll find someone. That might work for you. Lol.
I gave up on dating a year ago, and recently met someone. It's a long distance relationship so it's going to be tough, but he's so great I'm willing to figure it out.

I spend like way higher on my protein shakes, my diet and my fit polos.
Then you are in love with yourself. Lol.
Hm can u blame me doe? I am like hulk or something lol. Js
Why you are talking about what you spent on you while we are talking about what we spent for you to make you feel special.
But if a woman makes herself look really fantastic for you, isn't that making you feel special? Believe me I wouldn't do this for myself.
Plus, when I was with somebody I would spend money on them to make them feel special too. I would buy something that he said he wanted, get tickets to a particular play or movie that he wanted to see, take him to the Auto Show. Whatever.
Ok actualy I don't want fight and you are words also not bad.
No, it's to up your dating prospects in the face of competition from other women. It's purely self-serving.
what a bunch of nonsense. you do these for you not us. none of this shit is needed
