I feel like much of these expectations stem from the many romance novels we read, basically what we read regardless of the source. Magazines and online articles tell you what to expect and if you're not that experienced you tend to be shaped by the expressed opinions.

@Prankster13 hey man, you can choose to be offended if you want, but that is the way it works. Men engage one part of their brain fully, women engage multiple parts at once. It's the reason they are better multi-taskers, but men are better at spatial reasoning.

@Prankster13 Oh sorry, I was too presumptuous, please forgive me for that haha. But yeah, even gender studies text-books (i. e. feminist text-books) acknowledge this difference. Obviously there will be some men who are better at multi-tasking than some women, and some women who are better at spatial reasoning than some men, but just like men are generally taller than women (although not always), they are generally better at process thinking; which helps in everything from following mechanical instructions to following recipes.

Men generally make better mechanics, engineers and surgeons; women generally make better medical doctors, diplomats, writers and project directors. Emphasis on the "generally" here too.

Younger girls have ridiculous expectations, yes. They're at the peak of their sexual market value. Once they get older and men stop throwing themselves at them, they'll realize they don't shit rainbows. And take on a much more grounded perspective.
