Never. Most short men are very successful with women. My dad is 5'3, and he has been with a lot of girls around your age who loved him because he looked like a little kid, and he was very confident and outgoing. I believe him being an Extrovert helped with that.

Most women prefer taller guys because the taller guys aren't shy and resultingly, come off as less approachable because of some sort of inferiority complex.

No way! There are some fun sized girls that like dating guys that are 5'6 because to the short girls, you are tall to them. I'm 4'11 and 5'6 to me is pretty tall.
