Why are short men considered gross, ugly, while short girls are considered cute, adorable? The main reason while we still have short men on Earth are short girls who give birth to short men.

Because it's feminine to be short, while it's masculine to be tall. Obviously as simple as that. Petite women are seen as most feminine - at least up to the 80's...
But... we've somewhat redefined the femininity thing and models are considered the most feminine now - which is tall and skinny.

I don't think either of them are gross. It's just genetics, and it's not really a disadvantage in modern society in terms of survival. Women like tall and strong men because they want to feel protected, men like petite girls because they like to feel superior. This obviously doesn't apply to everyone, it's just what I see as a general trend.

Women on average are shorter, so if a girl is 5'4", her guy equivalent would be 5'9". And while 5'4" is average for females, many treat them as "shorties". So now it depends what you consider short and if you take into account sexual dimorphism.

Shorter women and taller men are usually perceived as the ideal traits for height. Though, I think tall and short men can be attractive. It just depends on your face and personality. I think Cillian Murphy is the most handsome actor and is only 2 inches taller than me. However, Adam Driver is like 6'4" and is also very attractive, a close second to Cillian. It's about how you carry yourself. Then, for women, you see Emily Browning and Lady Gaga, who are gorgeous and 5'1". Also, Elle Fanning and Kiera Knightly, who are 5′ 9" and 5′ 7", are beautiful. Height potential is 100% genetic. Eating healthily as a child allows a child to reach their maximum height potential, malnutrition can stunt growth which stops that, that is the ONLY way in which food affects height. Sorry, but you really haven't put much thought into this considering the majority of kids in the western world don't suffer from malnutrition, eat similar diets, yet vary greatly when it comes to height.
