honestly it's all shitly shit. people making all these categories to put eachother in. I'll date any girl, if she doesn't like me I won't feel bad about myself because of it. I'll just look for a better match.

Good philosophy. I don't love labels either. But if the question was "would you date someone who believes in equal rights for men and women" the answers would have been different. Feminism has a political connotation to it.

Otherwise she can take whatever political stance she wants. Long as she's not a fucking moron.

Feminism is a natural reaction, it will only grow, women want equality. After a while you will have no choice but to date a feminist. It's just that so many feminists are repressed snowflakes. I think that the only thing that can save humanity is compassion. I would rather date a compassionate person.

I would rather ask someone what they actually believe in, instead of what they call themselves or what others call them and judge them based on that instead. It's not possible for me to get to know someone based on a single word/label.

Depends on the person, and what they believe... that said i don't really care for feminists as a whole; they tend to be hypocritical or halfassed in their beliefs. You can have equality, or you can have chivalry, but you can't have both.

It was a general rule of thumb.

Also depends on what you mean by "dating." Cause friends with benefits falls under dating in my eyes.

Like what you said, I think the optimal woman to marry believes in equal rights for both genders. I think most people want equality for all.

But marriage is a HUGE deal. And with divorce rates skyrocketing and courts vastly ruling in favor of the woman. It's difficult to take the risk of losing your partner, losing your home, and losing your children because your partner jumped deep into feminism and became hostile towards you and men in general.

My girlfriend retweets the occasional feminist post, but doesn't consider herself a feminist and thinks this current wave of feminism is not necessary and only driving men and women further apart. I plan on marrying her once we graduate.

it's definitely case by case. I don't think there is anything wrong with dating a feminist, where I would draw the line is whether the conversations on it were actually debates, or if I'm having an idea being forced down my throat.

Fair point. If they cannot tolerate debate, probably not going to be a good relationship. Fortunately you can usually tell if somebody has that trait by how they respond to other things. If they say "I like this movie" and you say "I don't" and they say "YOU'RE A SEXIST PIG"... yeah, no.

I'm not saying men should be trolls with no emotion who resort to brute force all the time. But... let's be honest here a lot of men call themselves a feminist to get laid... which doesn't always work very well. The ones who wear it like a badge of honor are kind of annoying. I know this from real life encounters with these types.

Any relationship where one person is made to bow down to the other person is not healthy. This guy on YouTube Steve Shives. Good lord. He has a conversation with his wife. "My favorite superhero is iron man" immediately followed, w/o any prompting with "does that make me sexist. His wife "yes, I think so because iron man isn't a female superhero and your mind instantly went to male superheroes" or some bullshit like that. It's really sad. This single criteria is too little to make a judgment call. But being feminist nowadays is a bad thing. The movement has evolved to become man-hating and totally f*ˆ& up women's minds. Being a housewife is a matter of choice.

So if you don't call yourself a feminist you don't believe in equality?

just 20 percent of Americans -- including 23 percent of women and 16 percent of men -- consider themselves feminists.

And this is the Huffington Post Poll keep in mind.

I highly doubt only 16% of men believe in equality. They probably just don't choose to label themselves with that word.

So if they believed in equality but didn't call themselves a feminist?

      I disagree with that
Feminism isn't just an ideology, it's a social movement, and while I agree with the ideology, the modern western feminist movement is beyond cancerous.
It's just an explosion of false statistics, myths regurgitated as facts, and a complete lack of empathy for men

I want true equality between men and women, to the point where outside of biological issues and relationships, people treat sex like eye colour.
All the modern feminist movement has done is create a bigger divide between men and women and alienate men

America didn't get freedom by distributing cookies. Black didn't get equal rights by distributing flowers. In revolutions, maybe extreme things happen. It will all go normal once equality is achieved. plus, most of the videos against feminists are made by taking their words out of context or the ones when they react to extreme trolls and abuses. Focus on the goal, equality. isn't that reasonable?

Depends on how much she would judge and stuff, and how her personality is otherwise. Hope she doesn't talk about that stuff too much. It's just annoying

Why not. Don't care how they label themselves today. They still are tantrum bombs.

I was watching a video discussing some dumb article where the woman starts her date off with "I'm a feminist I know my rights so don't rape me" and then is upset when the guy won't have sex. Batshit crazy. If she introduces herself with "I believe in women's rights"- not my type, sorry.

Honestly if you're a feminist in a first world country. Great, just dont forget to check your privilege.

No. I would constantly question their belief, because their cause is mostly only valid in third world countries, and I would ask myself on a regular basis; "Why isn't their ass in Africa?"

I'll marry only a feminist. I hate the girls who think that they're entitled to special treatments.

"girls who think that they are entitled to special treatment" you mean feminists right, who matched for free tampons and contraceptives (it's 35cents) in Washington DC.

And also believe that men perpetrate so much rape that 1 in 4 girls in college get raped.

@Joti_Harrison first world problems, eh? I'm a village man from the southernmost part of India and trust me bro, you've never really seen a woman that thinks she's entitled to everything. We can only dream about a feminist girl who can take care of herself and be a partner for the rest of our lives. North Indian boys are lucky in this matter.

lol Majority of those feminist girls who can take care of themselves, would tell you point blank they don't need you. While still behaving like victims of society, blaming all their problems on the patriarchy and men.

@Joti_Harrison that's the entitled women like Hilary Clinton. Feminists are not like that. Just because the American army kill the kids and bomb hospitals, we can't call every American a child killer. Just befriend a lot if feminists, talk to them and observe. Once you've got a real feminist girl as a friend, you'll never want another girl. Not all girls who use the word feminism are feminists.

I understand what you are saying, there are truly feminists who believe in equality, the problem is that a lot of them argue why they need equality with lies and manufactured statistics that really don't help their cause of equality. It only ends up painting men bad.

The thing is they have good intentions, but their execution with unverified statistics calmed as facts do not help their cause.

For instance good feminist women believe 1in4 college girls get raped, which is absolutely not true. Listen to the feminist in the link below which I believe is a true feminist.

No, if a woman identifies herself as a feminist she's either deluded or insane.
