honestly it's all shitly shit. people making all these categories to put eachother in. I'll date any girl, if she doesn't like me I won't feel bad about myself because of it. I'll just look for a better match.
Good philosophy. I don't love labels either. But if the question was "would you date someone who believes in equal rights for men and women" the answers would have been different. Feminism has a political connotation to it.
I wouldn't date an idiot, or someone who believes lies.
Otherwise she can take whatever political stance she wants. Long as she's not a fucking moron.
per your update, so the admins thought it'd be nice to add their own shit onto your content and did it without asking you right?
they fucking did that for my shit too. so annoying
Feminism is a natural reaction, it will only grow, women want equality. After a while you will have no choice but to date a feminist. It's just that so many feminists are repressed snowflakes. I think that the only thing that can save humanity is compassion. I would rather date a compassionate person.
you need to take out all of these notions out of mind kid, just think all as human and things will not be soo complicated.
p. s : each and every person is unique
My boyfriend is a feminist and im a republican and all i do is smile and say you're right and dont bother with trying to say anything
That sounds like an awful relationship. What happens if you do say something?
It doesn't come up often and I find it amusing
I would rather ask someone what they actually believe in, instead of what they call themselves or what others call them and judge them based on that instead. It's not possible for me to get to know someone based on a single word/label.
Yeah fair enough. Though this question seems to contradict it I'm not a big fan of labels either. But since the article was called "why I would not date a feminist" I used the same term.
Oh ok, I see. It just feels like people on here love to throw around labels and stereotypes when it would just make so much more sense to just get to know someone. You never know what you might like lol
Very true, a sentiment I tried to express in my question.
I know :) wasn't speaking to you directly, just in general, you seem to get it lol
Depends on the person, and what they believe... that said i don't really care for feminists as a whole; they tend to be hypocritical or halfassed in their beliefs. You can have equality, or you can have chivalry, but you can't have both.
No I wouldn't. I'd get her a cat, She's going to need them.
lmbo
I married one in 1971 and we're very happy together.
I would, maybe she will appreciate the time spent with men and feel more confident and comfortable to accept the male gender as it is. Afterall, there have to be efforts for results to show.
I would date a male feminist. I'm not gay, so, I wouldn't go after a lady feminist.
Fair enough? Would you date a male who wasn't a feminist?
If he didn't want to use the label, yea, that'd be fine. If he was really vocal about feminist bashing, I don't think I'd like him very much.
No. I don't agree with any of the positions they hold so the relationship would be a horrible series of arguments. No interest in that whatsoever.
You could talk about things that have nothing to do with feminism.
None of the feminists I've met really seem to have any interests besides feminism.
Definitely. I'm a feminist, and if the guy or girl I date is a feminist too, then that's all the better
Girls are attracted to men not women
*Ahem* I am BISEXUAL
Most girls are straight
Not me!
Roberto Esquivel Cabrera, 54, from Saltillo, Mexico, has a penis measuring a huge 18.9 inches.
Dicks are not dicks. But pussy is pussy.
It's still just a dick
And women are seen as objects for us men.
I know. That's why I'm a feminist.
I'm a feminist. One of those sane ones haha.
My fiance thinks I'm delightful.
That's good, sounds like a happy, healthy relationship.
Feminists refuse blow jobs yet expect a guy to go down on them funny where's the equality in that?
@Brah63926 Usually (from what I've heard) feminists won't go down on a man unless he reciprocates. Some feminists believe in orgasm equality which isn't a huge issue either.
@Brah63926 There is this article where the guy advises this girl not go down on her boyfriend because he won't even touch her sexually, but when I looked up "why I won't go down on men" most of the results were about men not going down on women.
Date: Yes
Marry: No
But all in all, Its exactly what you said last, a case-by-case basis.
You would date someone you already know you aren't going to marry?
It was a general rule of thumb.
Also depends on what you mean by "dating." Cause friends with benefits falls under dating in my eyes.
Like what you said, I think the optimal woman to marry believes in equal rights for both genders. I think most people want equality for all.
But marriage is a HUGE deal. And with divorce rates skyrocketing and courts vastly ruling in favor of the woman. It's difficult to take the risk of losing your partner, losing your home, and losing your children because your partner jumped deep into feminism and became hostile towards you and men in general.
My girlfriend retweets the occasional feminist post, but doesn't consider herself a feminist and thinks this current wave of feminism is not necessary and only driving men and women further apart. I plan on marrying her once we graduate.
Sounds like a plan. I see where you're coming from. I would be concerned if I was dating a woman getting sucked into the whole feminism movement.
it depends, there's a lot of crazy bitches saying they're feminists, and they only think about female rights, not equal rights
No. Feminism is a movement against men. And besides, I never met a normal feminist in my life. So no. Feminism should be destroyed completely.
Been there, done that
lots of bonuses
but takes a lot of patience when the soap box comes out too long
it's definitely case by case. I don't think there is anything wrong with dating a feminist, where I would draw the line is whether the conversations on it were actually debates, or if I'm having an idea being forced down my throat.
Fair point. If they cannot tolerate debate, probably not going to be a good relationship. Fortunately you can usually tell if somebody has that trait by how they respond to other things. If they say "I like this movie" and you say "I don't" and they say "YOU'RE A SEXIST PIG"... yeah, no.
Same feminist... Jewish Nazi... White supremacist black panther... Reasonable liberal... BBW... You get the point.
Some guys like women to be partners and some think they are to be submissive.
Are you saying the ones who wouldn't date a feminist want women to be submissive?
Depends on personality really. Being in a relationship with a submissive person would not be good for me. I prefer debate and challenge. Different strokes for different folks
I guess it isn't one way or another. But i see femisnism as seeing your own value.
So, some women can still choose to be more submissive... but still an engaged partner if that makes sense. Still has an opinion
No, I wouldn't. Male feminists are generally really feminine which just isn't my type (no offense).
That's fair, I 100% get where you're coming from. Males who call themselves feminists are...
weird. Or often they are anyways.
This is a prime example of why we still need feminism and how feminism benefits men. No man should be shamed for being feminine.
what everyone has been saying for agres, dont be a cuck, dont be a p*ssy and girls will like you, feminisit men are not what women want
@ShayanMortazavi1998 Please tell me you're joking and didn't get that upset by one random comment from a random nobody (me) on the internet. I'm not saying men should be trolls with no emotion who resort to brute force all the time. But... let's be honest here a lot of men call themselves a feminist to get laid... which doesn't always work very well. The ones who wear it like a badge of honor are kind of annoying. I know this from real life encounters with these types.
Of she isn't overly confrontational, and a rather rational person, i would actually like that.
Im an anti -feminist.
At least there will be one topic , we can debate and argue over for the rest of our time together.
Besides, make-up sex
An actual true feminist, who supports equal rights for men and women? Yes.
A feminazi who calls herself a feminist and turns everything into a battle of the sexes and doesn't care about men? No.
Only a self hating man would date the second type. There are definitely some of those around. Men who walk around feeling guilty for being men. It's really sad and unimpressive to women I think.
I've known a few guys like that, they're usually whipped and under the thumb.
Any relationship where one person is made to bow down to the other person is not healthy. This guy on YouTube Steve Shives. Good lord. He has a conversation with his wife. "My favorite superhero is iron man" immediately followed, w/o any prompting with "does that make me sexist. His wife "yes, I think so because iron man isn't a female superhero and your mind instantly went to male superheroes" or some bullshit like that. It's really sad. I can't imagine that's a happy relationship.
ugh, Steve Shives is like the ultimate loser!
lol.. No. A man dating a Feminist is like a Black person dating a Klan member.
No, I would not date a feminist under any circumstances.
no. i feel like feminism has finished accomplishing all that needed to be accomplished for gender equality. modern feminism is radical feminism and that's not something i want in my life.
As long as she wasn't a man-hating fem fascist, sure. I knew some girls in college that were strong feminists who were also very nice people (and attractive to boot).
Wish I'd kept in touch...
media.giphy.com/media/cszUrZAPfUTMQ/giphy.gif
If she was a good person. I mean I wouldn't just turn her down.
This single criteria is too little to make a judgment call. But being feminist nowadays is a bad thing. The movement has evolved to become man-hating and totally f*ˆ& up women's minds. Being a housewife is a matter of choice.
Definitely not but I would date a Egalitarian woman.
feminists are great, and I'd totally date one. Would I seek out one to date? No, but I wouldn't turn down a woman for being one either.
I won't date a man if he's not a feminist. Belief in equality is a must.
So if you don't call yourself a feminist you don't believe in equality?
just 20 percent of Americans -- including 23 percent of women and 16 percent of men -- consider themselves feminists.
And this is the Huffington Post Poll keep in mind.
I highly doubt only 16% of men believe in equality. They probably just don't choose to label themselves with that word.
So if they believed in equality but didn't call themselves a feminist?
If you're against feminism, you're against equality or you've been badly misinformed or brainwashed. "Misinformed or brainwashed".
I'm an equalist. not a feminist = I'm a pitbull. not a dog.
I disagree with that
Feminism isn't just an ideology, it's a social movement, and while I agree with the ideology, the modern western feminist movement is beyond cancerous.
It's just an explosion of false statistics, myths regurgitated as facts, and a complete lack of empathy for men
I want true equality between men and women, to the point where outside of biological issues and relationships, people treat sex like eye colour.
All the modern feminist movement has done is create a bigger divide between men and women and alienate men
America didn't get freedom by distributing cookies. Black didn't get equal rights by distributing flowers. In revolutions, maybe extreme things happen. It will all go normal once equality is achieved. plus, most of the videos against feminists are made by taking their words out of context or the ones when they react to extreme trolls and abuses. Focus on the goal, equality. isn't that reasonable?
Depends on how much she would judge and stuff, and how her personality is otherwise. Hope she doesn't talk about that stuff too much. It's just annoying
As long as I'm not being burned on a stake for being a man, don't really care
Why not. Don't care how they label themselves today. They still are tantrum bombs.
I'd personally try not to , you know its not going to end well , this type of relationship when it ends
A male feminist? One who agrees with the message of that lame poster? Lolololol
I do actually
i would, but if they can't respect the fact that i am not a feminist, i will not respect the fact that they are one
no cause id know id say something to piss them off naturally either way i can't win in the long run lol
Depends on when I learn their a feminist. If I can hold a conversation and a date with out hearing feminism pop up out of context than yes I would
I was watching a video discussing some dumb article where the woman starts her date off with "I'm a feminist I know my rights so don't rape me" and then is upset when the guy won't have sex. Batshit crazy. If she introduces herself with "I believe in women's rights"- not my type, sorry.
Never! I would rather date an animal than date a feminist.
No. I'd rather be with a woman that prefers traditional gender roles
i would... but i wouldn't want her to be a feminist. who tf cares about the biased "average" information about wages.
Honestly if you're a feminist in a first world country. Great, just dont forget to check your privilege.
lol well said bro
No. I would constantly question their belief, because their cause is mostly only valid in third world countries, and I would ask myself on a regular basis; "Why isn't their ass in Africa?"
If she is willing to pay for dates and have the rent etc... sure why not.
Maybe depends if I get along with her anyway and if her views become a problem
I'll marry only a feminist. I hate the girls who think that they're entitled to special treatments.
"girls who think that they are entitled to special treatment" you mean feminists right, who matched for free tampons and contraceptives (it's 35cents) in Washington DC.
And also believe that men perpetrate so much rape that 1 in 4 girls in college get raped.
@Joti_Harrison first world problems, eh? I'm a village man from the southernmost part of India and trust me bro, you've never really seen a woman that thinks she's entitled to everything. We can only dream about a feminist girl who can take care of herself and be a partner for the rest of our lives. North Indian boys are lucky in this matter.
lol Majority of those feminist girls who can take care of themselves, would tell you point blank they don't need you. While still behaving like victims of society, blaming all their problems on the patriarchy and men.
@Joti_Harrison that's the entitled women like Hilary Clinton. Feminists are not like that. Just because the American army kill the kids and bomb hospitals, we can't call every American a child killer. Just befriend a lot if feminists, talk to them and observe. Once you've got a real feminist girl as a friend, you'll never want another girl. Not all girls who use the word feminism are feminists.
I understand what you are saying, there are truly feminists who believe in equality, the problem is that a lot of them argue why they need equality with lies and manufactured statistics that really don't help their cause of equality. It only ends up painting men bad.
The thing is they have good intentions, but their execution with unverified statistics calmed as facts do not help their cause.
For instance good feminist women believe 1in4 college girls get raped, which is absolutely not true. Listen to the feminist in the link below which I believe is a true feminist.
https://youtu.be/3TR_YuDFIFI
It depends, there's a spectrum from normal girl to feminazi
though that Spectrum is not as wide as you may think
Preferably not. Depends on what specifically she believes.
No, if a woman identifies herself as a feminist she's either deluded or insane.
I would decide on a case by case scenario. you can't judge a book by it's covers first read a couple of pages
Hell noooooo. Why would I date a headache? Feminist women always see themselves as victims and I'm not dating anyone who has that mentality
absolutely not. never date a women who will never respect you
honestly why not. personality Is like appetite everyone like something different than others
Sure I would if she doesn't mind me dressing up like a girl
the authorities covered up the sweden migrant rape epidemic
