Girls do you prefer to be treated like a damsel in distress or treated as a equal?

So my girlfriend roommate who is 30 years older then my girlfriend, feels i need to treated my girlfriend like more of a lady. Her define of being treated like a lady makes it seems like i should treat my girlfriend like a damsel in distress and not as a equal like i have been. My girlfriend roommate is the type of person who gets her male friend's to pay her bills, do her yard work for free and she even has a friend buying her a laptop.

My girlfriend roommate feel's i should be doing all this for my girlfriend and that i shouldn't allow my girlfriend to work two jobs which is something my girlfriend loves doing. My girlfriend is the type of person who is very driven and hates being treated like a princess.
I myself am very reserved and treat my girlfriend with respected if she sick i nurse her back to health, i cool and even give her back massage if she ask. I myself am very driven and until i met my girlfriend i use to treat all women like princess but i learned quickly doing that doesn't mean ill be treated with respected. I learn that if you want a good relationship then you gotta treated your bf&gf as a equal and with respected you can't be kisses the ground they walk on. Interesting question. I think it depends on a woman because all the people have different preferences. For me being equal to someone means not to be considered worse, that's all. If you respect your girlfriend and she likes the way you treat her, don't change that. Personally I think it is nice if a man helps me wear my coat or lets me in first which you can say is "treating like lady" but it is just another form of showing respect and it should go both sides. Men should be also treated like gentlemen and appreciated.

Your 100% right and i treated everyone like that men or women. I don't mind treated anyone i date the way they wanna be treated but i also dont want a girl who will live off me. I've dated two girls who were like that before and it ended badly

And your girlfriend's roommate shouldn't stick her nose where it shouldn't be. I mean, its not her business to do so. She have a right to do so though if you really treat your girlfriend in a really negative way.

I think your girlfriend's roommate is very accustomed to be treated as a damsel in distress hence she felt other girls should be treated that way too.

Agreed i use to treat my ex like that and she just walked all over me and treated me like shit. My current girlfriend is treated like a equal& with respected and we have little to no problems at all. Anyone will tell you besides i treated my girlfriend will
