Is dating in high school worth it? Does it last?

I'm a senior in high school, and I have never been on a single date. I'm not sure if dating a girl and possibly have her become my girlfriend would be, well, worth it, because at the end of the school year, we will graduate, and most likely end up going to different colleges. I have no experience with long-term relationships (because I never had a relationship in the first place), and I heard many times that teenage couples/romance don't last long anyways.

At the moment, I feel like waiting until I actually enter college to find a girl to go out with. However, I still want to know if dating in high school is still worth a shot.

What are your experiences? If you dated in high school, did the relationship last after graduating? Do you think high school is too early to even be seeking a significant other? What do you think about high school dating in general?

My honest opinion is that there's nothing wrong with dating in high school as it can be important in one's emotional development but there is no point in dating for the sake of it. I had 2 boyfriends throughout high school. One was very short, lasted about a month but showed me why minor criminal stoners make bad companions. The other was closer to a true relationship, I learnt quite a bit but in a lot of ways it felt like I was going through the motions of dating but not really feeling genuine. In some way I feel like those two experiences both helped and hindered me in my future relationships, because I ended up with some experience my peers lacked, but it make me incredibly uncomfortable and self conscious around men in that situation.

I think it depends on how serious you guys are in your relationship. Before I left high school, I was in a relationship, but over time, it felt more like a burden. Different schools, different states and we never got to see and we just fell apart and that was it. Now, conversations between us are very awkward. We talk once in a while now, but we seem more like friends than anything.

You can instead make friends, go out to places, participate in school events and have a blast

There are a handful of people I went to high school with who married their high school sweet heart. To them, it was certainly worth it. To me? I didn't date anyone in high school. I was too shy, didn't really have any friends, girls didn't really notice me. I'm far better with women now than I ever could have been back then.

It never once crossed my mind in high school to weigh the benefits of dating versus the likelihood of the relationship not lasting. I went out with whoever liked me that I was into. I can't imagine how much school would have sucked without those girls...

she won't ask you how much you earn
she won't complain how you spend you money on hobbies
she won't ask too much

love at young age is kinda pure you just like someone because you like her/him without any thinking and consequences

It doesn't hurt to date when you're young.
but remember this. the more times you date someone the more you'll compare your current girlfriend with your ex.

I've never dated either and trust me or my friends that I've been dating in high school they don't even think their relationship is going to last LMAO but I mean some people still by with their High School sweethearts

Not worth it, unneeded broken heartaches. Focus on school and let the time come, don't force it to happen cause its a "trend" and you want to be part of it.

I think it depends some times it worth it to date in high school and other people will say it sucked and they stopped and waited tell college or joined a dating site

Personally it sucked and I waiter until college to date and then ended up marrying him

NO man it almost never lasts, girls are flakes when they are young. They will flop at the first sign of difficulty or a "better" option.
When they hit college they will ALWAYS hit a slut phase, and if you are holding on you will just get hurt.

Women only settle down when their looks start to fade and they can't get through life as easily.
