It won’t change unless men do something about it too many men are still way desperate. Men shouldn’t even be on dating apps I think that is incredibly desperate. Guys should be on their purpose and if a girl likes you she will make it known if not then back to your purpose. If all guys did this it would be a merry place but too many desperate guys
@HereIbe How about you? Are you a man? You're the one all over an internet board whining about "waaaahhhh! why do men have to pay for dates?" Is that a manly thing to do?
Fuck society, and how they think I should be. I do what makes ME happy and if they don't like it tough shit, it's my life.

I don't think we have to challenge the gender roles but just be ourselves and we will attract like people or in some cases we negotiate to create a balance in a dating relationship.
I don’t mind the gender roles. Traditional roles work in my relationship. You certainly don’t have to be in that kind of relationship. If you’re a guy, date a girl that doesn’t mind paying, and if you’re a girl date a guy that doesn’t mind helping out around the house and cooking.
I don’t think it really matters but I do like guys who enjoy cooking and cleaning. And I prefer guys who take a bit more initiative.

I think people should do what works for them. I Also think we need to start leaving each other the fuck alone Regardless if they express typical or atypical gender roles.
these are old outdated standard, it should change, I like the comment about the groin punch joke that's really funny, you people are a lucky couple

I agree that some of the social standards need to be changed as they’re clearly fucked up. For example, the one in the picture where the woman is slaving around for the man. However the one about “men being taller” is really just about what you’re sexually attracted to, which people can’t help. Also some are just traditions like the man paying for a first date which people like to follow, while some others don’t. Simple as that.
@Gavyn She certainly rudely answered you, but she quite literally couldn't take the context into account because the context wasn't shown, it was cut out, thus the context didn't exist when she did write the then valid criticism. But she shouldn't have jumped at you like that.
Gender roles are basically a summary of the natural behaviors of men and women over time. Your list is and over exaggeration of gender roles, which almost no one follows, because it's too extreme.
Overall, people are comfortable with most gender roles, which is why it still exist and won't be challenged at scale. The results of the poll proves this.
If the person don't want to follow the social norms that's ok. One way to express yourself rather being another brick on the wall.(if u like tradition, go ahead, you can do you! just saying this for the people who feel forced into tradition)
I personally think that this is for the couple them selves to decide and shouldn't be imposed or pushed for, I also believe that about the sleeping with 20 people, not shaving and what not are personal preferences which are probably built by the opinions around them, but people tend to have their own opinions even if it contradicts what the grew up around, So now shouldn't be changed by out side parties but rather the couple them selves

People should just do things however they want to do things -if they end up challenging the gender roles, so be it, but there shouldn't be a focus on it. However it happens, it happens.

Funny how women despise gender roles, except when dating. Then they defend gender roles tooth and nail.
I don't have time for such hypocrisy. All men have to do is insist on splitting the first date. You instantly weed out the materialistic bitches.
It seems we are struggling to keep those gender roles alive. I will not challenge it, i happen to like traditional gender roles. Its what made the world go round all this time so why try to get rid of them?
We all need the capacity of change as technology, sciences understanding and a greater knowledge and respect of cultural differences. Yet a man need always listen/see, then think twice before reacting if not at all. The way treat one on a date might get one to first base, opposite way a kick in the kaggs. Respect, decency and common sense ( also bit of a good giggle) are the things that make dates at least good fun.

Come back and talk about "men" once you are one, boy.

I agree. Too many men are willing to put up with terrible women just for a chance at getting laid. We need to have dating standards and stick to 'em.
I think challenging any set standard is always a good idea. You figure out what you actually think this way.
Get out there and challenge gravity. Jump out of that plane without a parachute. You show it who's boss.

The funny part about that picture is that it's only half the picture. The man slaves away for the woman during the day.
It’s not the 1900s anymore. Women work too. Educate yourself before commenting useless shit on my post or fuck off.
Did I say that? Bitch I was commenting on a gender role you criticized without taking into account it's context.

The gender roles should be whatever feels most comfortable for both of you.
Yes. We should challenge ridiculous concepts that try to force people into a box and/or control them based on their gender.

You forgot number 9. You jumped from 8 to 10.
I disagree with those expectations but if others want to live by them, let them. I won‘t live by them.
It is only important to challenge if it poses a health risk or dangerous.

I don't know whether it's important or not. What I know is that typical gender role more often than not doesn't fit me at all so...
