What does it mean when he says feel free to text me?

A guy and I are planning on meeting up soon for a date. Before we set an actual date he said he would probably be quiet for the next week because he will be away with his daughter at Disney World. I said cool - have fun and then he said well feel free to text me when I’m away, we can make plans when I get back. Should I text him to show interest or would he reach out if he was interested - so I shouldn’t text?

Sounds like he can't make up his mind. He'll be quiet for the next week, or NOT text you, because he's on vaca with his daughter. BUT feel FREE to text HIM. So I suppose you can text him but not expect any replies. Maybe text him something that doesn't need a reply. I see you've got blue skies and 80s in Orlando. You're lucky! And leave it at that.

I think you should text him to demonstrate interest by him saying feel free to text is encouraging you and giving you the green light to stay in contact which is a good sign!

Being a father it's responsibilities.
And he is leaving the door open for you..
If you step in you get him along with responsibilities, but if you walk away he isn't stopping you.
