Hi guys, so the question is about this.
We sort of started as friends with benefits (the website that we met on was sex specific). But we got along very well and he was super nervous the first time and it slipped out that he called it a date. He has some issues with letting people get close. I travel to him each time (my mother is no good to meet - next city, less than 2 hours by train), he lets me stay over night, buys me breakfast and we part about 1 1/2 - 3 hours after waking up. Now, some months later, I asked him what it is (fwb/dating/or if he wants a relationship). He wrote that he thought it was friends with benefits and sent a photo of himself being cosy in bed and hiding his mouth so that I can't see the expression.
I didn't answer him on that and after some hours he added that he would really like to go on a date with me and that sex doesn't have to be included into it. Now (one day later) he writes very little, both of us didn't write good morning but I wrote something afterwards like usually. I'm considering blocking him because as a woman it is not my job to invite him on a date. I dropped enough hints by being really affectionate with him and we both have pet names for each other. Because if he likes me he should have asked. And if he doesn't like me he shouldn't have said yes. I do love him but is he worth the trouble to move into dating or is he just trying to extend his membership on fwb? And why is he a fool to not be proactive now that he knows that I like him? I am really angry about him not putting in the effort and am considering not seeing him again at all. Because I can tell that he has tried to act cool a couple of times in the past and at this point in my life I want someone who is grown up enough. How do I get him to do his job (at being the man) instead of this? Because this situation is horrible nonsense to me.

Forgot to mention one thing, when he said that he would like to go on a date he put the animal of my pet name in the middle and put like 30 hearts around it. But do guys do that just for getting back into friends with benefits?
