I can answer this
So, "plus size" is largely related to the fashion industry. Many of the clothing sizes that are above a standard range of sizes in women's fashion are included in the term "plus size." That includes a wide range of sizes. So, both.
Womens body shapes can vary even within the same size, depending on how your body fat is distributed tbh. I have friends who wear the same size as me and we look pretty different. Both pretty fat, as that is usually the case at a size 20-22. But I might be taller and my weight distributed more evenly and my friend might be a little shorter and her weight concentrated on her butt/hips/thighs or concentrated even more on the boobs/tummy/arms/face... it really is super varied. But even a size 14 is considered plus size for most clothing lines and a size 14 could either look chubby or maybe not tbh. A lot of women carry a lot of weight on their lower body, especially like black women and latinas and at a size 12 or 14, they may or may not look "fat" to some people if they don't carry that much weight in the stomach. Really just depends on the woman.
SO the answer is that plus size is a catch all term, which I believe started in the women's fashion industry. All the clothing lines I've bought from were "plus size clothing lines" and the range of sizes is huge. I think anyone a size 12+ could technically call themselves plus size, as they may have to shop at plus size clothing lines to find the goods. Keep in mind, womens clothing lines are all over the place in consistency. You can be a size 12 in one store and a size 16 in another.
But also your options are pretty subjective. What is "fat as shit" may be different from person to person, and cultures that favor curvier women tend to view weight differently than those that prefer very thin women.
Curvy and fat are not contradictory. Curvy is about shape, not weight. Literally, the dictionary definition is about lines/shapes. "Fat" really is almost meaningless, as even slimmer women are fat to someone, but lets just say fat is more about body weight/size. Technically, fat is tissue on your body, but I digress. You can have a curvy shape and still be pretty fat. Literally, a lot of plus size clothing lines are now called "curve" lines.

It could seriously be both... either body dysmorphic and things an upper average body weight is plus size so giving a disclaimer or she’s a chunky monkey with pics from 5 years ago
Based on the poll, you must have something against plus sized girls. They are plus sized usually when they are a size 12 or up, and that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re unattractive. They could be really curvy and plus sized :)
Those fat chicks love saying they are "curvy". No bish, you are just fat.
