Is answering a guys dm’s cheating?

So I get dm’s by many guys but like I reply sometimes to the non-sexual ones. I have a boyfriend for 4 years (but we are a secret), but it’s interesting to talk to these people and they honestly want to get to know me. Most of these guys go to my college, but I don’t know them very well, so I feel bad not replying to them. Most girls don’t dm me and want to know about him. Is it ok to reply to them or is that cheating?

As long as you have no issues showing those conversations to your boyfriend. In fact to keep yourself accountable, share some with him.

Yeah I always show them to him when I initiate talking to someone. He doesn’t like them lol. But I feel bad not replying. And him not liking the dm’s makes me feel like I’m emotional cheating or something. But he’s a little more on the possessive side

Ha ha, that’s cute tho. A little bit of jealousy may be one reason you do it; deep down you actually like him being possessive.

Ya might as well keep going but show him some conversations in the middle and not just the beginning. If you mention to those guys that your boyfriend just read part and had some advice, they should respect your relationship and accept his advice. If they react negatively to him looking at your conversation, that’s a red flag in my opinion

If you're only looking to be friends its ok, but you should be open bout it with boyfriend. If you're hiding it or doing it for anything more then friendship then its wrong

There's nothing wrong with having male friends or talking to guys for some interesting conversation. This is by no means cheating
