When a person sets unreasonable expectations for dating, why when you refuse can they not accept it?

Initial conversation goes well.
Now it's time to go on a date - i dont want to waste any time.
BUT this person has decided they want me to call them and try to offer me their number.
I politely decline (i dont want her to know my number until i see her in person and i know she's not a creep), also I dont want any time wasting or have the wrong expectations.
Then the 20 messages of abuse, advice, persuasion, im a better person etc begin...

These kinds of people paint a bad light on dating apps and waste guys time.
Your telephone number in the wrong hands can get your phone hacked, unsolicitated calls, becareful who you give it to. Creeps exist in both genders.

Thank you everyone for your comments, the summary of this opinions is this:
1) Many people out there have not thought to seek therapy for bad experiences.
2) Having a traditional romantic & affectionate approach to dating can be mistaken for a 'player charm' attitude and as a result of 1) this is dangerous as it may bring up those bad memories and they might then seek to hurt you. Therefore the traditional approach filters out these creeps as they will react with 20messages.
