What's the "least physically attractive" you would date someone for an LTR if everything else was great?

I have dated a few women who were quite beautiful. One looked like Suzanne Somers in her "Three's Company" days. She was much easier to look at, but not a better girlfriend than some of the others. I have dated a few women who were on the lower end of the scale. One of them was a great match in many, many ways, but was probably what most guys would rate a 3/10. Despite that, I was very happy with her and very attracted to her, but. . . she never fell in love with me and I eventually broke up with her. I have learned that I can love someone who is not particularly pretty and, if I am in love, I will lust for them just as much as I would lust for a Hollywood star. There are still some women whose physical appearance would be an instant turn off but I would not hesitate to date a woman who was "average" or even "below average" if I thought her other qualities were good. How far down the scale of 1-10 would you accept if the person's other qualities were "just what you were looking for?"

I don't think I've ever loved someone before, but I think if that if someone told me they liked me or at least found me attractive, I'd probably automatically find them more attractive.

Looks attracted, but personality is one of the ultimate deciders in how the relationship works out.

There's more to a person than the way they look and if you're attracted to someone who you've only seen with make-up on (obviously depends on how much, etc), they'll probably look a lot different without it and often, not as good to me anyway (not an attack on women, the same goes for guys too, because makeup can do a lot), in comparison.

As long as they're at least decent without it, it's fine and more realistic, but the more attractive, the better.

5-6 for me. I know I'm not attractive and I'm mature and honest enough to realize that. So obviously I'm not going to expect a guy that's a 7 or higher to even glance in my direction, lol

No, I'm not being hard on myself or exaggerating.
Looking back at my exes, and I mean no disrespect to them, but they weren't that attractive. Yet I still liked and dated them.

Yet if I liked an "attractive" guy? Well put it this way: they remained a crush or unrequited love interest as I wasn't their type 😑

When looking for a partner I put personality and intelligence over looks. Meaning looks are great, but I need more than that to even consider a guy worth dating, regardless of distance.

I view attraction the same way I view money - it only impacts you until you become accustomed to it so I prefer character and house keeping and conversation skills to good looks - the only physical requirement I have is he is healthy and can maintain his health - if he is very ugly but at his ideal body weight and fitness level - I will be satisfied with his looks even if I don’t get bed room urges every time I look at him

I am so happy you wrote this! ❤️ Some people just don’t get it! I personally think this rating system is BS anyway, as attraction is subjective. It does not take into account a person’s cultural bias or personal preferences. Someone’s 10, could be another one’s 4.
I often hear from younger people that their relationships aren’t lasting. I think it’s because in this ‘Instagram era’ too much emphasis is placed on physical attraction. More attention needs to be placed on compatibility, common interests and a strong emotional connection.

I would say about a 4. But this is going by initial thoughts on appearance; I find people become even more physically attractive once you see their good qualities (like humour, kind-hearted, etc).
I have fancied men who aren't exactly male model material, and I am aware of this, but I still find them attractive.
It's cliche, but I'm gonna say it anyway. People's personalities begin to reflect in their physical appearance at some point. You could date the most gorgeous person, but the minute they start acting like a jerk 24/7, you're not going to want to look at them, no matter how 'attractive' they may be.

While it's true that both genders care about looks, the good thing for men is that majority of the things that women tend to like are in control of men so no matter the facial features, if he stays in shape, smells good, wear clothes that suit him and shows confidence then it would really help to increase his attractiveness compared to if a girl put the same amount of effort.

I noticed one thing with people who have some kind of deformity. Whether I watch them online or in person, I realized that as I see them more and more it actually doesn't bother me anymore and once their personalities shine and I like them I feel happy when I see them again. So I'm just guessing that things like burn marks may not be as bad as how some people perceive it, but again it's just a guess of course I've never dated someone like that before.

People rate me between 7-10 on average, people I know rate me high. I rate myself lower, but even so I go with what feels right rather than calculated settling. I don't think it's in my nature to settle, I've tried it and it failed. I'm genuinely happier alone or with someone ideal who I'm strongly physically and mentally attracted to.

I have high standards. Don't get me wrong, I am not going after super models, but I am neither going after someone that doesn't evoke any physical attraction in me. If you are gonna date someone, then get exclusive with that person. You should feel that person is beautiful enough for you, physically and emotionally. If you don't feel that attraction, don't waste your time and that person time.
