Why do I ALWAYS attract older men?

Ever since I was 17, I've been attracting older men. Now I’m 19 and the same pattern continues. It’s weird for me since I’m a very reserved person and not one bit flirtatious. I dress rather modestly, I never wear make-up (even when I go out with my friends), and I don’t even bother to fix my hair in any fancy manner. And yet, I’m attracting guys in their mid-20s and 30s. What’s even more strange is that guys my age are never interested in me. And I don't mind that since I'm not looking to get into any relationship as of now. The only thing I'm worried about is the reason why I'm attracting these older men. I'm sure I don't give off 'the easy prey' vibe, so I'm sure I'm not attracting any predators. Most of these men spark the most genuine conversations but the age gap makes me want to make a run for the hills. Whenever we go out, while my girl-friends are being hit on by guys our age, I'm being approached by someone older. It has become a pattern.

You guys got any clue what's wrong with my situation or maybe some of you are in the dilemma as me? It'll be very good if you guys share your views on my situation.

From the experience I've had, much older guys go for younger women because we seem more naive. They don't think we're as worldly or something. Every older guy who's approached me always tries talking down to me like he's the first man in a sea of boys that I've ever seen.

Add to it the creep factor that I'm 19 but honestly look like I'm 15 because I'm so short and it paints a very unflattering picture. 😒

Thankfully I've learned how to carry myself in a way that instantly lets them know I'm not a good target for them, so it has stopped.
And thankfully I'm smart enough to realize that these guys only represent the most extreme minority of the guys around me. Lol

I appreciate your opinion very much. I always keep dropping hints that I'm not interested and I keep adding my age tag every once in a while in these conversations. Most take these hints and go away but some stick around and what's worse is I can't tell them off because neither are they being inappropriate conversation wise nor are they being rude. Sometimes these conversations are rather genuine. But the night always end with them insisting I go out with them because apparently they think that we 'clicked'. Story of my deranged life.

Yeah there's just gonna be people like that in the world. It's a numbers game to them. Most likely they do it to every single woman they meet. The more women they ask, the more likely it becomes that one of them will eventually say yes. So they don't care about age or whatever, because all they're waiting for is that clear yes or no. And they make sure to not be rude or inappropriate for that exact reason. They hide behind social etiquette to get in as deep as possible before trying to hook someone in. Lol

The only other thing to do is just not engage with them. Either straight up ignore them or only give vague, one word answers while focusing your attention on something else. Find ways to convey disinterest without having to actually verbalize it.

I can assure you I'm nothing more than an average looking woman. I wear all black everywhere, I wear not one speck of makeup, and my hair is normally down, no fancy hairstyles. And like I said, guys my age never come up to me. So I don't see how anyone else can be drifting towards my physical appearance.

Perhaps they see you as the mature one of your group or they're attracted to your spirit your vibe and the younger guys are looking for the ones that seem more likely to put out. You shouldn't worry too much about it. Life is going to happen for you at your own pace and when we rush it we tend to make mistakes

You are probably not giving off an "easy prey" vibe - just the opposite. Older men are seeing you as the innocent type and that is what is attracting them. Guys your age are looking to get laid, not getting into relationships.

Aren't older men attracted to more mature women? My innocence should be a major turn off if that's the case. You can imagine me as quietest of the bunch at a party. I don't talk to guys much, just stick with my girls and I'm usually the mom of the group. I always like to think I'm invisible in a party due to my lack of involvement in the 'activities'. And then, I'm still the one who's being approached by men older than me. It's a rather strange phenomenon.

They are definitely more mature and better than guys my age in multiple aspects but I don't really feel any romantic attraction towards them in particular.

On average a girls peak of attraction is between 16 and 22. After that they gain weight, lose their youthful appearance and change. These men are attracted to you because of nature. I hope that they don't see you as easy prey but you should always be careful

Gurl trust me, I'm like the least interesting woman out there. I dress in all black all the time, I don't do any make-up, hell I don't even put any effort to do my hair.
