Losing some would be ideal, but you're surely not ugly or anything. Opinion will vary depending on who you're trying to date though, and generally speaking, a thinner body would take the possibility of somebody saying no because of that extra fat you got off the table.

You Aren't fat or obese just out of shape..
Diet can do it.. By losing weight but it will take away your fat from boobs or ass.
But exercise will make sure you lose weight on the right places like your tummy and your thighs.
Although if you don't lose weight.. I you still physically are at edge of qualifying as dating material
