I don't know that it's necessarily unattractive, if a philosophy can even be described that way, but it can be true or not true depending on different situations. It also depends on how you view "maximum satisfaction".
For example, if you have a project that you need to complete within one day, you have a couple options, both of which would reward you with different types of pleasure:
1) You spend 1 hour (the minimum here), and then have the rest of the day to relax. You get satisfaction from having 23 hours to do whatever you want, your own free choice of activities. But, later on, you may find that while you were satisfied with the extra time off, you were not entirely satisfied with your project.
2) You spend 24 hours (the maximum here) on the project. Your final product is a representation of the best of your abilities, and you are satisfied with the final showing, however, you may experience dissatisfaction after finding that you have "lost" an entire day's worth of free time.
I honestly don't know where I'm going with this now, but my point is: you should try to find a middle ground that satisfies both/all niches, or label your priorities according to situational differences, and be willing to accept consequences/different outcomes.
