He thinks I’m his one, but I need to vet him more, I’m not too sure about him. Should I let him go and stop wasting his time given that I’m not sure?

i doubt he’s 100% sure you are “the one” in only 4 months. That’s still pretty much the “honey moon phase” or infatuation talking. If you like him and think things could work but need to see him in more social settings then that’s fine, just go out again and be honest with him and yourself.

How long does the honeymoon phase last normally?

I’ve told him I care deeply about him, I feel fondness and admiration for him, but I’m not 100% sure I can call it love yet. He tells me “trust me, our connection is out of this world” which it admittedly is.

I think it could last anywhere from 6 months to a year. You’ll know when that person gives you all the attention, quick replies to texts, no arguments etc they basically don’t see any of your faults. 4 months is a short time to call anything love and you guys aren’t even a couple yet. Love is something that develops over time throughout many shared experiences and it’s also a willingness to want to be with that person. There’s more to it than just a feeling. I think it’s good that you care for him and admire him. You need to have more interactions with him in person.

I feel like I need to see him interact with the real world more. We have a great connection and I’m very attached to him, the idea of not ever talking to him again scares me, but i haven’t met his family, seen him in social settings, seen him in times of stress etc.

Experience tells me if you're not feeling it after 4 months then you're probably not going to. Ignoring red flags will only cost you in the future.

The big red flag is not feeling it after 4 months. Especially if he's really into you. That's a huge disconnect
