+1 yMessy? Absolutely. That's a huge plus and I actually think it's adorable.
Dog pee on the floor, absolutely not.
I had a buddy who would literally scoop the dog shit off his bed with his bare hand. He had a lot more sex than I did but, I wasn't jealous. Any girl who got in there with him was doing the rest of us a favor by outing herself as... Not what we were looking for.
But if you leave your socks and makeup on the floor, come over and let's build a messy nest of things we like and call it home.00 Reply

+1 yNo, I wouldn't. Messy people live hectic and chaotic lives because they are so disorganized. They may be smart and likeable in other respects, but if they can't organize their own lives well that's a big turn off.
That said, I have dated some artistic/creative types who didn't keep things as neat as I'd like while we were living together. They've been the only two exceptions to my rule of not dating messy women.20 Reply
1.7K opinions shared on Dating topic. A bit messy I could probably deal with. I'll have to do more, but eh-.
But generally speaking I like clean, hygienic, and organized people. They tend to be conscientious and I prefer that (though they may also be fussy and pedantic. But they're the lesser of two evils, in my opinion.) Plus, I have a really strong sense of smell, and I'll get grossed out and lose respect for someone who is dirty and lives dirty.10 Reply

+1 yMy husband is messy. I'm a neat freak. I don't mind picking up after him most of the time, but some days it is annoying. I think what bothers me most about (some?) messy people is their ability to whine about not being able to find something in their own mess. That makes me CRAZY. If we ever split up, I wouldn't date another messy person.

+1 yI’d date somebody who is messy with clothes and furniture but not somebody who is messy with sanitation or hygiene or food. So I’d date a messy person but not a dirty person.
10 Reply I don't think I can, I know that everyone has their own way of keeping clean or their own styles of cleaning, but if they are just completely messy it's like dating a kid and no one wants that. I also link messiness with hygiene, if someone can't even keep their house/room/stuff clean what makes you think that they can keep themselves clean.
10 ReplyI probably would not. Clutter literally makes me go insane. I have had a psychotic break and nearly from dealing with the moderate hoarding issues of a family member. I am a photographer so I'm highly Visual and meth just absolutely drives me up the wall.

+1 ySorry but no I can't date someone messy. Its means they don't got their stuff together. I don't want to go to a guys home when I start dating him and see his bathroom is gross, kitchen dirty, and room messy with unmade bed with dirty clothes on the floor.
00 Reply8.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. I dated the biggest slob you could imagine. When she did laundry she never folded it and put it away, she just piled it on her bed and picked though it when she needed something to wear, her dog would pee on the floor and she would just let it dry. She had a litter box for her cat. It was probably changed one a year.

@FamilyGuy2020 hahaha
+1 yNot anymore... Well I wouldn't live with them. If you are not messy and the other person is, it causes anxiety for the non-messy person. It actually does matter. Clutter makes me crazy. I am not super neat, just prefer for things to be put back where they came from.
Anecdote: My ex and I had an agreement. When she cooked, I cleaned. And when I cooked, I cleaned. And I did 95% of the cooking and cleaning.00 ReplyBeing messy can be overcome.. being messy and unclean is a problem

Lol what’s the difference?
my parents are quite tidy usually but after years and years things change and my mom got quite messy she left many things untidy etc I mean I get it she's stressed out with life WE all are and tidying is not our priority when we are in this period especially emotionally you just forget these things unless you have guests so you clean
I often clean but not always because when am alone I just leave my bed like it is
thats the only thing I leave untidy lol00 Reply585 opinions shared on Dating topic. I'm messy, but I'm also a germaphobe. Always wash hands before eating, take lots of showers etc. Now was far as the house is concerned. The laundry stays in the dryer, I usually have lots of paperwork on the kitchen counter tops like junk mail and bills that need to be thrown out. Last night's food stays on the counter til morning etc. I'm a bachelor and take full advantage of it.

+1 yMessy, yes. As long as it is all clean. I find tidyness OCD (the sterile keeping of everything neatly folded). It is also a waste of time - you can use it for better purposes (if you have the mental capacity to learn/connect the dots).
Hygiene is obligatory, it is a health matter10 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. WTF has that to do with anything, unless you are a clean freak?
There is "messy" and there is "unhygienic" the two are not synonymous. Most clean freaks are tidy, but often toxic and not pleasant to be around.00 ReplyProbably take what I can get. Depends on what mess and how messy
10 ReplyNot for the rest of my life.
Messy means unprepared and unorganised to host true love.
Not cool for either a guy or a girl.21 Reply- +1 y

+1 yI'm messy, so yes. I couldn't judge them for being like me. Filthy or dirty is different but messy, not a problem
00 ReplyThat's kind of a pet peeve but I can adjust if he's willing to get better at cleaning up after himself
00 ReplyThat would be hard for me, but I would still give them a chance. I am a neat freak. Everything is clean all the time. Even shampoo my carpets once a month. Sometimes twice a month.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yYou mean cluttered stuff? Those stuff can be organized. Or those who leaves nasty residues in the fridge and clean everything else except the fridge? I know it seems oddly specific but that bothers me.

+1 yIf it only involved clothing and furniture than sure, somebody who doesn't take care of her hygiene, or having rude table manners or doesn't clean up their bathroom and food is a different story.
00 Reply Sure I would, my son's mom who I was with 7yrs and I will always love could make the bedroom literally look like a tornado hit just by picking out a single outfit for a single night.
00 ReplyIf its casually messy thats fine i dont expext anyone to be perfectly clean and organized all the time but if she's a horder or just trashes a clean room and doesn't care about maintaining it id prefer not to date her

+1 yIf it is organized chaos, that's one thing; that's how I live. If the chaos is due to pure laziness and will never get straightened out, then that's not an option for me.
