Not my proudest opinion but I read your comment section and I'm sure that guy is exactly like me. I think that guy attitude doesn't came from shyness exclusively, he even could be seem as a confident and extrovert person sometimes, doesn't he? My opinion is that his attitude cames from insecurities, he doesn't want to say something stupid, also he isn't sure what to talk about with you and have trouble to communicate in specific scenarios.

If he texted you excited right after date, means that he is genuinely interested and he want you to know it in some way.(something that he couldn't do at the moment) he's aware that you could feel confused.

Basically, it's not your fault. Possibly he is insecure and his social skills are not the best.
That's my very personal opinion.
Or maybe he is just bored and not interested LOL but I doubt it.

He is just focused on the road and being safe.

He is shy/introverted/not very talkative. Maybe just his personality. Maybe just needs time to open up or feel comfortable.

He doesn't want to say something stupid or freak you out or potentially ruin the date.

He was most likely concentrating on driving. Having a conversation with a driver is distracting and could lead to an accident. If he was otherwise conversant when not driving, he's a good guy.

I mean like even when he wasn't driving, like we went out of the car to have our meal at a cafe and also to walk around in the malls, he doesn't initiate much convos with me. I'm the one who has the initiate 90% of the convos, but he will answer me when asked. He doesn't look that excited while doing those activities as well. But then after we got back home respectively, he texted me first and the way he texted shows that he seems excited, used a lot of emojis which were opposite when we went out in real life...
