I never used online dating but
Maybe try to make your online profile clean like upload stupid pictures , pictures with friends , and show your best side. Ofc don’t lie about your height. And don’t write a paragraph why you are there leave that section empty.. to be mysterious. And maybe download many online apps not just one , if no one choses you then you chose them say hi how are you?’ And see what happens.
As anything in life you can’t rely in only one thing so of course you have to look into real life dating options too. Maybe ask friends who’s available , family , go to the gym be active there.
Luck works too some days somewhere you might meet random girls out of nowhere. Nothing is calculated. You came into this world randomly right? Believe in your self.
A tip : Work a lot to upgrade yourself mentally and physically. In case you end up meeting a girl remember to be 1. Funny 2. Optimistic

If you did not try to change your profile then you can do that before giving up. How you present yourself is pretty important and I have seen many profiles where it just seems kinda random what they put up, including very bad photos (quality and angle).
But online dating is not the best option for many, so at least also looking elsewhere is always a good idea.
