I value that he feels secure enough to share what is on his mind and express all of his emotions. Honestly, he’s more comfortable being vulnerable in front of me than I am with him. I have some internalized shame and self-loathing about expressing sadness, for example.
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that gets better.
Thank you! 😁 I think my parents and being the “problem child” f’d me up a little.
I’ve been thinking about my problem a lot lately. I think I am on an upward trajectory of sharing my vulnerable side, little by little. It’s really hard to explain, because it’s not that I fear judgement or retaliation. It’s more so that I am judging myself or am ashamed, or feel like I am being dramatic or wasting other people’s times by being an emotional female.
But truly, thank you for this question, I am going to be working on this more and thank you for the kind message.
I'm very glad to hear you're on an upward trajectory, that is great news! 😄 There's always good ways to bring it up, bad ways, and plenty of ways in between. Just do your best to bring it up the right way, say what needs to be said, and maybe save some more for later if you feel the need. Sometimes things need a little time to simmer before you move on to more. And perhaps we won't see it as dramatic, maybe he'll just see it as an opportunity to get closer to you. 🙂 And you're welcome! 😄
