Do you consider complete lack of jealousy a red flag?

I feel like when talking about jealousy in a relationship we focus more on over jealousy rather than the lack of jealousy as a feeling.

Well, I’m not sure.


It depends.


I think it’s natural for someone to have some jealousy, so a complete lack of it just seems strange to me.


It may be the person is being untruthful or deceitful.


I’m not going to lie, I experience jealousy sometimes. I also experience insecurity, anxiety, fear, etc.


I’m human, so to me it’s no shame in admitting these things at all. When someone does not admit these things, it just makes me wonder how honest they’re being.


So, is it a red flag? Not necessarily, but it does make me question a person’s honesty.

Usually. Complete lack of jealousy makes you wonder if your partner is bored or complacent.

With exception to a special type of person (male or female) that usually trends towards the hippie/communal living that often finds themselves within the polygamous community. Not that these people are devoid of jealousy completely, but they do seem to have a gentler attitude towards it than serial monogamists.

Yes, if my partner has no jealousy or any impetus to protect me from an interloper than this person doesn't value me. I have seen this to be true in my life experience. They view you as something to use not as someone to cherish.

I guess it depend but if both are married for more than 20 years the lack of jealousy is not a red flag. though maybe in new relationship absence total of it can be a little weird, I don't know.

it would depend on the personality of the person. I think jealousy is also a maturity thing. but generally I think an SO would get a least a little jealous and defensive of his woman
