There is an old rule of thumb though if you want to use that as a guideline?

That states half the mans age plus 7 as the lower age limit.

Which would be not older than 44.

And as most women dont like to date younger your age range would presumably then be 30 - 44.

Being close to your age (although I already have a partner) I would aim at men not older than 35. That would allow us to have children by the time I'm 35 and he's 40 when problems typically occur. If you don't care about children then as long as your partner is over 23 and you're both happy, age doesn't matter that much... though in my personal opinion age gap bigger than 10 years is not realistic long term.

Its a trade up. If you're dating just to date any age is fine. But you're old enough you are now on the secondary market. I think you will have a hard time getting a man who is both a good catch and willing to commit to you, unless if you're like super model looks possibly.

Guaranteed there is something wrong with him if its not obvious it could easily be private. Could be many different things but if its not obvious often the man will have an ultra feminine characteristic the woman must tolerate. For example maybe he likes to wear a diaper and call her mommy in bed. I'm not even joking.

Just think about this from a mans perspective, you can agree or disagree all you want but men in general will value a woman by age a lot. See rich men movie stars male models, you know as well as i they generally all go for significantly younger women. So now why is a man going to date a woman who is his age or older? Hmmm. Either he can't or he thinks he can't do better... low self esteem or just generally not someone women want. he's got some weird fetish a more experienced woman will handle for him. Or he has some kind of character flaw maybe he is a wimp or can't keep a job or is fat. Something obvious.

Guaranteed there is something wrong with her man. wouldn't it strike you as odd if a successful hot 35 year old man was dating a 35 year old woman? Why wouldn't he like most men in that situation date a 25 year old? There is a reason. For sure.

Think of it this way. you're in a crowd of girls your age looking at a dwindling supply of men your age most of which who are dating younger. But the second you open up to the next up age bracket... you are the creme of the crop woman now not lost in the crowd, you will have access to the best 40 something year old men there are, where if you limit to men your age your will almost certainly not have access to the best men your age, as they are dating younger.

Well im not familiar with your area but here its almost laughable that a woman age 29 is going to find "the one" around her age. We have two kinds of men here and the one half she finds attractive wouldn't value her at all. The half she finds undateable would marry her. And so most 30 something women just stay single.

They keep them until they are annoy them too much and then they let them go. We have a sub 50% marriage rate and an above 50% divorce rate here so im not going to get married for sure.

Well i wouldn't compare scotland to LA. The reason you see it in rich places so prominent is because the power disparity is so clear ie hugh hefner with his 3 girlfriends. But actually those places have what we call a liberal mindset and they would agree its predatory. I actually live in what we in america call a conservative area think the south and midwest in rural areas in which is highly common and considered normal.
