Trending & News Call of the wedding now, or regret this for the rest of your life...
Seriously?
Countless disagreements already, no compromises... and you're not even married yet. Not a good start.
doesn't make it to the point off calling everything of. it's just a disagreement and every couple disagree a lot.
Are you in full time employment?
Yes but I don't earn a huge amount.
Ok.. But what if his side business could be built up if he puts more hours in?
I am a firm believer in being self employed.. It's the way to go if you want to build up a business.
It would have to be a hell of a lot more hours, to the point where its kinda unrealistic
His full time job. Could he not ask them if he could go part time? .. That way he could do both until his business built up?
That's what I said but he wants to quit altogether.
Is he there now? If so Could I talk to him?
Lol he's not here , plus he probably wouldn't like me asking this anyway
I get it. For what it's worth I think you are right to dig your heels in with this. We are in the middle of a financial slump. Going it on your own in business-is tricky at best. A huge mount of businesses fail. Ask him this..
hat happens if his business requires him to work more hours than there are in the day. Is he prepared to do whatever it takes at any cost to build it up? If he says yes, then you have to consider seriously whether or not you are going to put up with it.. IF you agree to it, then you have to do it with a good heart and not get angry with him. It's a real dilemma that you face. and one he really needs to be prepared to lose you over..
Yeah and I just see it as we won't be able to have our own property if he just plans to stick with self employment , either that or it will take longer than I would like and I'm not keen on living with inlaws but he's okay with that.
The only way I can see a way out of this is if you both agree to put the wedding date back. and say give him 6 months to either make a go of it or not. And if after that 6 months he agrees to go back to full time employment or you leave. I don't see any real way out of this because there is no way to compromise and both be happy.
The thing is, the convo was the same 6 months ago😩😩
Then any decision you make cannot be deemed a spur of the moment thing, and he cannot be surprised if you call the wedding off and leave him because these talks have been ongoing for so long. The truly sad part is that neither of you are wrong, you just want very different things.
