Would totally depend on what the first date consisted of! In high school our prom dates were a two day event. We had the dinner and dance on Friday and picnic on Saturday.
I haven’t thought about this before, but I don’t think there should be a set limit/rule. I usually would just see what happens and the few first dates I have been on ended up being 3 hours at least
When I was dating online I learned not to plan a long first date -- just coffee or a drink, lunch at the most. If it goes well and we're both free we can find something else to do.
It depends on the activity you have planned. I took my wife out fishing in my boat for our first date. We stayed out for about 2 hours and then we had the fish for dinner. It probably went on for 5 or 6 hours.
I don't ever put a predetermined time limit on a first date. Just make casual, meet for drinks etc. If it's clearly not a match either party can pull the plug whenever they wish.
I don't put a time limit on my dates. If I truly enjoy the person I'm on the date with, it'll last up to four hours. If I'm not enjoying it? Like an hour.
First date should be open ended. Planned such that either party could easily brake it off or it could be extended. A 30 minute coffee at a coffee shop that could be extended to an entertainment event or something like that.
I think planning something that could be an hour long or could go longer is a good idea. If you don't hit it off, you can cut it off at an hour, but if it's going well, you can continue on for several hours more getting to know each other further
As long or as short as you want it to be. If you click with them, why cut it short? If you can't stand them or it is otherwise clear that it isn't going to work, why drag it out?
From the male perspective it’s hard to say cuz if I’m having a good time than I don’t care but women are usually more picky about those kind of things so I would limit it to like an hour 30 mins is fast

It greatly depends what the date is, what you are doing and how much you already know each other.
my latest first date was pretty much 18-20 hours or so.

Six hours on your first date? Wow! Good for both of you. My first official date with my now husband was a little over two hours.
Long enough to enjoy and short enough to want more.

I don't know. Depends on how much you like each other I mean I've been on some first dates that I didn't ever want it to end
If the date is going well, I'd say 2 hours is fine, but it depends on how far you traveled to your date location.
It's should be a minimum of 15 minutes, after that it can end when either had enough. at least that way you gave them a chance.

Why set time limits if you are comfortable with your date and having a great time.
You can always cut and run!
My best first dates were unscripted!
I don't think there should be a set timer on it. As @Lliam said, if it flows, it flows. I really don't like the term "first date."

No more than 2 hours you sho;;d spend at least 6. hours with each other befpre having sex.
Usually more hours mean that both parties want to spend more time together. It also depends on what you do on the date.
