Dating apps totally don't work out for me. I hate online dating and every app coat money these days which I'm not willing to spend on it because it makes bo difference for me anyways.
I only had a date once with online dating but in the end we didn't connect in a romantic way but we did become friends till this day so at least I gained something out of the online dating bs lol 😂😋
After my divorce (I was married for 30 years), I tried a couple dating sites and met several women and had reasonable dates. I dated a few of them for 6 months and met my current SO on one... we've been together for 6 years and counting.
I also know 5 or 6 couples who met on dating sites and are still together after several years, some of them are married while others are in long-term relationships.
I would not call them "scams". I think as a rule your chances of finding the right person for you are reduced if all you use is the internet to find a date. Get off your butt and go to places where others are. YES, I know covid has screwed up a lot of things. Just the other day I attended a child's 10th birthday party. Her parents met at a local laundromat!
I've made a few friends and gone on a couple of dates where we met via Tinder. Nothing terrific really, lots of people on there just for validation or hook up with a Chad.
I'd set low expectations of the app, and limit my time spent on it.
If I was looking more seriously I'd get join some local real world hobbies and look for someone via those.
Finding a genuine person on there is like finding a needle in a haystack. But, I found my amazing boyfriend on a dating site, our one year anniversary is in a month. 💓 He's literally the best
1. It can be, yes 2. Not necessarily. There are con artists/scammers on those dating sites who seek out people who would love to be romantically involved with someone and prey on their loneliness and desperation. Once those scammers get them hooked, they will begins to leach a large sum of money off of them anyway they can.
Yes I live in rural area and I got on one of those sites and it told me that there were hundreds of drums dead gorgeos women just a few miles away in all these neighboring towns that I know for a fact have population of less than 50 people and most of them are elderly one In particular was a town that I know only has a grain elevator and no people living there the dating site there were 5 early 20s beautiful single women living there So yeah complete BS
Dating apps/sites are infested with bots, as is the internet in general. Most dating sites outside the MatchGroup umbrella (except Zoosk, Badoo and maybe some local apps) are just cesspool of bots and scanners living on desperate men with money to burn.
i have yet to meet any girl on a date app most are fake or cam girls that you can not meet or scammers and a few others i dont trust any of them no one is out there for me and i will remain alone sadly im 42 with adhd cptsd and a spine dease... or how ever u spell it
Not exactly a scam but just a Business so they are trying to earn money by making people pay to meet someone else, If it was a scam there wouldn't be so many of them.
I have used most of the Popular dating sites and on all of them you have to pay to chat to someone so I don't think there is such a thing as a 100% free dating site.
Yes 100%. I would see the exact same messages word for word, if I don’t respond to that message I would get another message, if I bring up meeting a girl which actually was a boy in public the bot would make up a bunch of excuses to not do that just to get me to talk. You gotta spend money over and over again just to talk. It never leads up to anything
Yes, all I see is fake profiles and scammers asking for money, cash cards, iPhones, etc. Only 5 to 10 % profiles are real. I don't trust dating apps anymore. Scammers make money and dating apps companies make money. I think Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. are good to find a partner.
I don't think so. While it's not technically considered a "dating" app, I met my husband on Tinder. We've been together for 3.5 years and married for 5 months. I'm well aware that our situation is probably rare though. 😂
Absolutely. I have been all over all the dating sites. Everyone on there is either a single guy or a bot. Even some u think are a single guy, they turn out to be a bot! "I just need you to buy a gift card/send me $1 to make sure ur real". Puh-lease!!
No, but sometimes it can hurt more than help with people who already struggle with humans relations. But some people do very well the apps. It should just be used as a tool and not an absolute and i think itll be fine.
when i used it and i'd look for someone wanting a blowjob there were always 2 or 3 guys looking for that as well so it served my purpose quite well at the time.
Yes. Ignoring any politics or gendered opinions just on the rational of the problem they address they are a scam. Finding a partner is a problem to be solved and dating apps are a service. Services make money treating problems not solving them that's why, pharmaceuticals don't put as much money into cures, diet programs never keep the weight off and dating apps don't find you a life partner.

No. I do think the pay ones are a waste of money though. I use dating websites. But I only use free ones because you have to be realistic. If your odds in real life are 1 in 100 of finding a match online it's probably more remote. More like 1 in a 1000 online. I tell guys you have to treat women on dating websites with a grain of salt. And if you meat them irl, chase it with a shot of penicillin. Good luck.
I will no longer try to find a partner through social media, not even just a dating app but FB, IG and others. Now if I want to find a partner I will look for her in the real world.

Not quite a scam, but certainly a bit of a wasteland.
Yes! I THINK they ALL Are. They Dont work and are so creepy.
I just deleted all my dating accounts because they dont work, are a waste of time and energy.
I dont want to meet girls on my phone and having awkward dinner dates / interviews. They're Not Fun!
