If all he does is game, yes. I'm breaking up with that.
But if he has other interests he successfully manages alongside gaming, has good hygine and home habits, and is capable of living a good and whole life while also playing games, we're good.
I play several hours of vidya myself, but I also tend a garden, run DnD, and involve myself with activities outside the home.
It's vital to have a well-rounded life.
I've already had two exes who played video games for most of their days. The first got upset I wasn't home more - supposedly because sex - but after forcing me to leave two of my hobbies to stay home he never wanted sex.
The second would play mobile gatcha games so much he couldn't do his job right. And he would spend most of his days masturbating to porn, then playing gatcha, then switching back and forth between the two.
So, if vidya is his ONLY thing, we're not even dating. But if it's something he does on the side or even as a full-time paid content creator, that's fine.
That’s a beautifully worded answer. Priorities need to be set straight and it’s easy for people to slack and be lazy this day and age.
How much is a lot? 😅 if its like not going to work or everything needs to delay and procrastinate just because of the game, then that is a lot and that is not healthy in relationship at all and it might call for break up.
If it is balanced- like knowing and doing the time to work, time to eat, time to be with me/family, time for game, time to rest/sleep, then definitely I would not break up as it shows there is still discipline despite the gaming habit and I would game with him too. Lol
Lol fair enough. It’s balanced but sometimes when the pressure mounts, it’s an escape. Girls who game are the best by the way.
It depends, if he is responsible... stable, has a job working full time. Still makes time to do stuff outside of gaming with me, riding, hiking, etc... and is willing to play multiplayer games that I like as well, then no.
If all he does is ignore me to play some mmorph, and has trouble going to work, or being stable... then yeah, I'm not going to put up with that.
Yeah that makes sense! What do you mean by riding though?
I do outside stuff like, riding atv's, snowmobiles, horses, and getting out into nature a lot, camping and so forth.
Not a home body in the summer, gaming is more for winter when its too cold.
Cool! That sounds a lotta fun
It is, plus when I do game... I have a Oculus 2 so that is fun, exercising and stuff... Arizona Sunshine with my man is fun.
Cool! 👍
Never played Arizona Sunshine but it seems fun.
If he’s gaming to the point where it takes up his entire existence, at the level of an addiction, and he makes no effort to do any chores, help pay expenses, etc., then I’d dump him. I signed up for a partnership, not to be your parent.
If he does play games, I’d like it to be something we could occasionally do together, though we’d both have our separate games too.
Lol you’re right, it’s a partnership and not parentship. What games would you be into?
These are my favorite genres! RPGs like The Witcher, Assassin’s Creed, etc. Are always good fun.
I hear you, hope you get to enjoy those games soon on a decent system. Gaming is the best - probably one of the very few things that make me forget about the many problems in my life.
I know Green Hell. It’s on my list. Too many games to play, very little time. 😂
It honestly depends , Yk in a lot of relashonships thats all guys do is be on the game but as long as he is balencing it out with the game and spending time with you.. taking you out and loving you then its toatlly fine but as long as u getting that sane love he giving that damn gamee!!
Gaming can easily steer guys off their goals and relationships. Video gaming is a slippery slope, ngl. But eveytjjng is possible with accountability and dedication
yep and effort
That too
Some women won’t mind… others will.
id put myself in the bracket of thinking ok it’s a hobby and it’s good for everyone to have their own interest but if I feel like I’m being ignore for a games console then I’m probably going to get out of that situation and find someone more into doing things with me
That’s fair.. I wouldn’t blame you
Depends. Will he come out and touch grass with me? If not, then my fears of trying to live is going to be brought down b/c this mofo reminds me of my mom- no goals, dreams or anything for the future.
Of mine too! She hurt me beyond imagination.
Depending on the game, we could game together.
If he doesn't want to hang out AT ALL, and just games all day, repeatedly, then, I'd dump him.
Makes sense! Gaming is fun. With a girl (if she knows what she’s doing) it’s much more fun 🤩
As long as you don't push me away if I wanna cuddle and if life around you doesn't fall apart. Family/health/job.
Makes sense.. cuddles and gaming go hand in hand
Great, that's good!
Why would a 30 year old guy would spend all day playing games this is the real world grow up!!!
Nobody said all day
No. Why would I dump someone for what they like to do in their free time?
Hope more people would think like you
No, I would not as long as it's in the 'healthy zone' which means he's not neglecting something else and he's not addicted to it.
I feel like most dudes are addicted to gaming, some worse than others
As long as it's an hobby and doesn't take over one's life it's fine. Sometimes it's a fine line between gaming a lot and having a gaming addiction for some people. If a gamer starts to neglect work, family, responsibilities etc. then it's a problem. Also to answer you question, that would mean the gamer boyfriend would also neglect his girlfriend.
Very true 👊
