I was at a weekly board games night with my friends, my one friend decided to bring her best friend along this time, I had never met him before but I remember when I first saw him and our eyes met that I felt something, it started off as just wow this guy is really cute and whenever he smiled at me my heart felt like it stopped... every time we hung out after that I slowly fell for him a bit more, it got to the point that it was hard to not think about him, fast forward about 3 years and we have been happily dating for just over 6 months now

When I was much younger and single, my sister set up a blind date for me. On our date, we went to a pizza place and talked so long that they had to throw us out... so others could eat. We went back to her place and continued our talking, as well as a few other things. We fell for each other that night. We saw each other several times during the summer (it was a long-distance thing, I lived 100 miles away), but unfortunately it ended when colder weather set in. I still have fond memories of her and that summer.

I've gotten feelings for people really quickly, but it's usually because they started flirting with me first. I'll think people are cute (or occasionally "hot") when I first see them, but I usually don't start thinking too hard about it until after I know their personality better. The one exception is if the other person starts heavily flirting with me.

I wouldn't say I "fell for them" though. In situations like that, either the reason we have for interacting goes away before anything happens, or I find out something about their personality that I don't like and subsequently lose interest. In the rare circumstances that that doesn't happen, I still don't let things get too serious until I know the person better.

twice actually. once was from a dream and it lasted for about 3 years. no "strong feelings" but it was pretty long.

the recent one (lasted around a month) gave me hardcore butterflies in my stomach. it was not even a 'silly little tingly feeling' it literally made me nauseous and nerve-racked. i couldn't swallow bits without feeling the need to puke it all out. my heart must've been TIRED beating that hard. and this whole ordeal was when i was AT HOME. for some reason i felt much calmer near him.

I have when I was in high school we had this events called NISSMUN where several students from all over Nigerian come to participate. So we were both undersecretary generals for conduct and compliance. I wasn’t doing my job then one girl kept ranting at me which I just ignored then he told her to stop and then we started talking. We spent 5 hours talking about a lot of things. It was so funny because I was like I’ve had malaria for 4 months so there’s no way I’d have. Then I did have😂😂😂 malaria the night we spoke. Then the feelings became so intense that I always wanted to talk to him but I didn’t know what to say🥺 then Nissmun ended and I haven’t seen or spoken to him in a while

No. It would only take a few minutes. In three days time it's entirely a well thought out more rational proposition.

So to be clear, the scenario you're suggesting, where say I meet some girl, and I don't exactly register a reaction right away, but like a day or two later I realize, "Oh shit, I think maybe I love you!" Doesn't really happen.

Anymore... Maybe it happened once... I remember that I was annoyed when I first met this one girl. And then later I realized that I was really into her.

Fell hard for this guy who walked into my place of employ ‘bout 20 years ago (restaurant). Flirted and flirted and he never asked for my number. Saw him again a month or so later. Same reaction to my flirting. Finally just handed him my number.

Yeah definitely. It was the first guy I met through a dating app. We had seen each other twice and I just fell for him instantly. Just something about him just swept me off my feet. The way he talked, the way he moved, the way he looked, the way he smelled and the way he kissed. It was amazing. 😍
He sadly ended up cheating on me after I had to leave for my internship for 3 months. I'm still not really over him but I have enough self respect to not go back to him.

I think I actually did fall for a girl in a short period of time. It wasn't just lust. I could've not slept with her for a year and been extremely happy in her company. She said she was really happy with me and that there was nothing wrong with me, but obviously that wasn't the case. I'll never know what the reason was as to why she left. Sad story haha

I dunno, maybe when I was younger. I don't remember very vividly what I felt then. But I'm much too smart for that now. I may like someone, but I know damn well to have "feelings" after a few days is nonsense, and I'm probably just creating it in my head. So I ignore it.

This is very normal. When I like someone for their physical appearance I usually ignore it. But when I like someone for their mental beauty I develop feelings very fast and it is intense. It happened with women who are already committed. But I know this is not love and just a liking. So I maintain my limits. Eventually this feeling fade out once I get attracted towards the next person. This is simply limerence.

That's just the excitement of someone new, especially if it starts off well. It's way too soon to be "love" as you don't know them well enough and takes time to develop. But yes, "other" feelings for sure and normal as everyone has felt that.

I guess that type of energy breeds similar energy?
