No it´s not necessarily strange it just could mean that he has some kind of obstacle that keeps him from dating or something that makes him less attractive to women. Maybe if you get to know you´ll understand him better.

Because I´m such a guy and for me the problem is that I´m tall and thin so I don´t have strong shoulders or arms and I´m insecure about my body. There might be similar or different reasons for your guy.

Maybe he´s insecure about dick size and therefore didn´t have success dating.

This all means that just because you grew up a certain way and most or all people around you conform to a certain norm, doesn't mean there aren't people out there that have either grown or conformed to a different norm.

Understanding that will allow you to accept subtle differences you find in many new people you meet.

I think it is
